What oil does Arbys cook with?

Updated October 2022! Arby’s is the second largest sandwich chain in the U.S. with thousands of restaurants and additional locations in Canada and the Middle East. We appreciate not only how many dairy-free options they have, but also how thorough and consistent their ingredient and allergen information is. It’s allowed us to create this very big dairy-free menu guide with many custom order options, along with a separate vegan guide. This menu is primarily for the U.S., but many items are similar in Canada, and we’ve included a few special Canadian notes.

Arby’s Dairy-Free Menu Guide with Allergen Notes & Vegan Options

Allergen Notes: At last check, all of the Arby’s menu items listed below could be ordered without egg, as long as you choose egg-free sauce options. See our sauces list below for which items contain egg. Arby’s is a very wheat- and soy-heavy establishment (even with their fries), so we haven’t labeled for these allergens.

Fryer Note: All items marked with an asterisk (*) are deep fried and may be cooked in a fryer that is used to cook items that contain milk and other top allergens. Arby’s uses a corn, soy, and canola blend of oils for frying.

Limited Offers

• Real Country Style Rib Sandwich (no cheese, no crispy onions)

Heads Up! The fish sandwiches at Arby’s are seasonal. When they last popped up, the Crispy Fish Sandwich and Spicy Fish Sandwich were made without milk.

Heads Up! The Arby-Q still states “contains milk” on Arby’s latest allergen chart, but by ingredients and components, it still appears to be dairy-free. The staff confirmed to us that it is, but verify at your location before ordering. There have been rumors that Arby’s soaks their beef in a brine that contains milk, but this is false. Their roast beef is made with “just beef and a small amount of water, salt and sodium phosphates.”

Hey! I appreciate your site so much. Just as a note though, I have had a couple different Arby’s locations tell me that their salads, including their side salad, are pre-mixed and can’t have cheese removed. I’m not sure if it’s all locations but just a note.

Chicken sandwich

Just wondering if the classic chicken sandwich is different than the crispy chicken sandwich. Our local Arby’s only ha the crispy chicken on menu and that is listed as containing milk via the Arby’s allergen chart. Hoping this is incorrect because I would love if the crispy chicken were truly dairy free!

I helped Chelsea via email. Our list above is correct. She realized she was getting that information from a blog that doesn’t do updates and was linking to an old allergen menu. We update whenever changes are known, or annually, whichever comes first. There is a last updated date at the bottom of each of our fast food listings for reference. Enjoy!

Yes, indeed, we do follow the Arby’s info, and our info above is correct! I think you’re either looking at the Canadian chart (as noted in our post above, they use milk in the turnovers in Canada) or at very dated information. For years, and up until our most current review, the turnovers at Arby’s do not contain any dairy. Please feel free to contact us with the information you are receiving to the contrary, so we can review it for current accuracy.
