Celebrities, Tastemakers, and Spectators Enjoyed the Highly-Anticipated Polo Match and Ultimate Champagne Picnicin Support of Will Rogers State Historic Park and Regarding Her Food

LOS ANGELES, CA October 2, 2021Veuve Clicquot welcomed Angelenos, celebrities, and polo-enthusiasts to the beautiful Will Rogers State Historic Park to enjoy the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic Los Angeles. The chic and glamorous crowd enjoyed a day of polo-watching, picnicking, and champagne-sipping in support of the event’s longstanding beneficiary, Will Rogers State Historic Park, and new charity partner, Regarding Her Food.

Set in the picturesque hills of Pacific Palisades, the park once served as home to polo matches for the stars including Will Rogers, Walt Disney, Spencer Tracy, Clark Gable, and Douglas Fairbanks. After a hiatus in 2020, Veuve Clicquot brought the tradition back to Los Angeles to benefit one of the last remaining grass polo fields, bringing attendees a unique and exciting experience that embodies the glorious days of style and polo that thrived in the city of Angels in the 1920s and 1930s.

Veuve Clicquot’s strong female heritage and the story of Madame Clicquot as the creative mind behind innovations that transformed the House and champagne world, propelled the brand to support the advancement and empowerment of women restauranteurs, donating to Regarding Her Food, a non-profit devoted to creating opportunities for connection and success by way of programs that support, unite and uplift female food and beverage entrepreneurs in Los Angeles and beyond.

“We are thrilled to partner with Regarding Her Food in their mission to support and empower women in the culinary space,” said Anne-Sophie Stock, Vice President of Veuve Clicquot at Moët Hennessy USA. “Madame Clicquot demonstrated boldness, creativity and perseverance. At Veuve Clicquot, we aim for her courage and strength to live on and inspire entrepreneurs through our initiatives and partnerships. With the Polo Classic in Los Angeles this year, through our donation to Regarding Her Food, we are able to help support women who inspire others through their own journeys.”

Always a star-studded event, the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic Los Angeles was attended by celebrities and friends of the brand including Charlize Theron, Jacob Elordi, Gabrielle Union, Keke Palmer, Jamie Chung, Chris Martin, Sophia Bush, Lukas Gage, Jodie Turner-Smith, Christina Hendricks, Retta, Dylan McDermott, Kendrick Sampson, Logan Browning, Jaime King, Tom Welling, Denise Bidot, Justin Hartley, Curtis and Lindsay Price Stone, Duckie Thot, Lana Candor, Patty Jenkins and Kilo Kish.

Spectators enjoyed a fast-paced match watching Team Veuve Clicquot, captained by world-renowned polo player Nacho Figueras, take on Team Will Rogers, captained by Juan Bollini. Nacho played alongside his wife, Delfina Blaquier, who was deemed Most Valuable Player and brought Team Veuve Clicquot a victory.

Other highlights from the day included exciting commentating from the event’s emcee, New York Times bestselling author, award-winning journalist, producer, and judge on Project Runway Elaine Welteroth, Tony and Grammy award-winning artist Renee Elise Goldsberry’s captivating performance of the National Anthem, DJ Samantha Ronson spinning, the infamous divot stomp at mid-match and Lukas Gage’s playful ball toss.

Known as one of the most glamourous and stylish daytime events of the season, celebrities and guests at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic were excited to step out in their best to enjoy the beautiful day wearing wide-brimmed hats, color-blocked dresses, micro-bags, vibrant shades of pink and green, slip dresses, pops of paisley, and unexpected twists on vintage pieces.

For the first time ever, Veuve Clicquot introduced the exclusive La Grande Dame Cabanas, private and elevated viewing platforms within the Rosé Garden. In addition to private butler service, guests enjoyed a gourmet lunch and hors d’oeuvres inspired by seasonal garden produce served alongside glasses of La Grande Dame Rosé and the limited-edition Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame 2012 champagne whose bottles were designed by Yayoi Kusama. La Grande Dame is the fullest expression of Veuve Clicquot – a prestige cuvée created in honor of the brand’s namesake, Madame Clicquot, who trailblazed the champagne industry with her innovations and audacity as a female entrepreneur in the early 1800s.

Back by popular demand, Veuve Clicquot also offered polo-enthusiasts the opportunity to enjoy the match from the Rosé Garden, an exclusive viewing area where guests enjoyed exceptional views of the action on the field, Veuve Clicquot Non-Vintage Rosé, and a gourmet lunch created by Chef Rōze Traore in collaboration with Wolfgang Puck Catering. Chef Rōze is a contemporary fine-dining chef who is a member of Veuve Clicquot’s The New Makers Collective, an international collective of creators from various countries, with multiple cultural origins united by the same passion and commitment to sharing a new perspective on cooking.

For the Rosé Garden, guests enjoyed delicious menu pairings inspired by Chef Rōze’s signature style of bringing different cultures and international flavors to each dish, including a Citrus & Herb Chicken, a Baby Kale Salad, Seared Spiced Salmon, Fusilli Pasta Salad and Pistachio Brown Butter Cake.

Guests also enjoyed the Picnic Lawn, an unreserved open lawn seating with access to champagne bars, food + drink purchases, a merchandise tent, games, photo moments, and more.

As a complement to Yellow Label, Rosé, Rich, and Rich Rosé champagne offerings, guests also indulged in fare from some of the best food trucks in Los Angeles and local
