How do I watch GameChanger on my computer?

Why is GameChanger no longer devoting development resources to GameChanger Classic?

The GameChanger Baseball & Softball (GC Classic) app was created in the early days of smartphones. Mobile technology has changed a lot since then, so to be able to offer all the new features we have developed and plan to continue developing, GameChanger needed to leverage a new platform as a base for this larger, more sophisticated, more expandable, and more secure structure. The new GameChanger app has the flexibility to cover all the original features plus enable much more our users will appreciate.

Can I still use GameChanger Classic?

Yes, the GameChanger Classic app and website is still functional and you are able to continue to score games with that app. We do not plan to maintain this app forever, but we will communicate the sunset plan and timing so you can save scores and stats.

When is GameChanger Classic going away?

There is not a sunset date for GameChanger Classic. We do not plan to maintain this app forever, but we will communicate the sunset plan and timing so you can save scores and stats. We encourage you to upgrade for free to the new GameChanger as soon as possible. The best time to make the switch is before your next season begins.

Is there a website for the new GameChanger?

Yes, currently for Staff only. Go to https://web.gc.com/login. The GameChanger Staff web portal includes scheduling, rosters, and stats. Support for Family & Fans will be developed soon.

Do parents need a new subscription?

GameChanger’s subscriptions work across apps meaning a single subscription works for both. Anyone who has a subscription on GameChanger Classic can link their subscription to their account in the new app. Read through our Linking a GameChanger Baseball & Softball Subscription support article for more information.

Can I create a Group or Tournament in GameChanger?

We have released a new capability called Organizations that is intended to replace Groups and Tournaments from GameChanger Classic. While this feature is still in Beta, we hope that you will quickly see the potential of it in helping run your Leagues and Tournaments. Please see the GC Product Blog regarding the Organizations Open Beta for more information.

Does the new GameChanger have stat privacy?

Team Staff can choose between three stat privacy settings: Fan Access, Confirmed Member Access, and Confirmed Member Access - Player Only. The most restrictive of these settings is Confirmed Member Access - Player Only. This will limit season stat access to Team Staff, the specific player and their confirmed family members. Please refer to our Stat Privacy Settings support article for help adjusting this for your team.

How long will it take to import my GameChanger Classic teams?

Most teams import within a few minutes, but if you have a lot of teams and years of history it could take up to a few hours. Teams will continue to import in the background even if you leave the app during the process.

Does the new GameChanger sync with GameChanger Classic?

The data will NOT sync between the two apps once you imported your teams to GameChanger. Changes or games scored on GameChanger will not update in GameChanger Classic and vice versa. Stick to using one app to avoid making the same updates on both apps.

How will my team members know to use the new GameChanger?

We will NOT automatically email invites to the family or fans of any team that you import, including the season you're in the middle of. But after you switch to the new app and import the team, fans can download the new GameChanger app, create an account with the same email address they used on the old GameChanger Classic app, and they'll see the team you imported in their account automatically and be able to follow games.

BMBL uses GameChanger as our preferred baseball scorekeeping app. While the app is very easy to use, there are little tips and tricks that can be helpful to scorekeepers and fans - see the links at the bottom of this page. Scorekeeping tips include recommendations for best practices to aid in consistency and ease-of-access across BMBL teams.

Why GameChanger?

GameChanger is an easy-to-use scorekeeping and team management app for smartphones and tablets. Coaches can use the app to communicate game and practice schedules to their teams and for players to RSVP to those events. Scorekeepers can use the app to electronically score the game. If a game is scored with a device that has an internet connection, fans of the team can 'watch' the game stream live, similar to ESPN GameCast. They also have a video streaming option. All of this makes GameChanger ideal for family and friends who are interested in keeping tabs on the game but are unable to attend in person.

Which version of GameChanger should I use?

There are two versions of GameChanger:

  • GameChanger << this is the one BMBL uses (the green logo)
  • GameChanger Classic

BMBL is using the new GameChanger instead of GameChanger Classic because of the video streaming feature. For prior users of the GameChanger Classic app, the user interface is almost exactly the same, so the transition should be easy.

You can get the GameChanger app for Android or IOS, for phones or tablets by going to this download page. Admins can also access GameChanger from a PC using their web interface.
