Can you see through the film?The stained glass effect, once printed, is translucent, but not transparent. Our Art Deco designs can either be printed on clear film (non-frosted) for added colour vibrancy, or on frosted film for added privacy. Non-Frosted film will still allow for some privacy so would be ideal for a front door, but we wouldn't recommend it's use in a bathroom where privacy is more critical. Please order samples if you want to compare the two types. Is the film applied internally or externally?As a rule and for durability, our films are printed for internal application. In the case of house numbers, the text or number is printed in reverse to be read correctly externally. Window film can only be applied to smooth, non-textured glass. Which Art Deco stained glass design should I choose?Try to find a design that suits your interior and colour scheme. If you are planning to paint your front door for example, either select a colour for the door and find a suitable design within that colour range, or select a design and match the colour to your door. How are the Art Deco stained glass designs created?We start off with original period stained glass images and designs, which we turn into digital graphics so that they can easily be resized to suit your window sizes. We also incorporate high-resolution images of coloured glass within the pattern, for added colour vibrancy and a more realistic finish. The shape of my window is different to your designsIf your window is not of standard shape, arched or circular for example, the resizing process would be more time consuming and there would be an extra charge involved. Please note that, though every attempt will be made to match the pattern of your existing glass design as best as possible, the finished product and the way the light interacts with it will be quite different to your existing glass. How easy is window film to DIY?Applying window film couldn’t be easier, and in most cases, the whole process can be completed in a matter of minutes. All you need is the small application tool provided free with your order, soapy water in a spray bottle, and the instructions of course. Our Art Deco era window film designs have been created using original etch glass patterns from the early part of the 20th Century. The designs are created by printing the pattern directly on film. There's also a clear option whereby we print the frost on a clear film leaving the pattern as a clear area within the film. The designs will be resized and the film cut to your exact measurements. The film we use is suitable for bathrooms and kitchens and resistant to condensation, but avoid direct contact with water. It can be removed at a later stage, making it ideal for rented properties . It is easy to apply, using soapy water and a squeegee. Designed for indoor use, but can be used outdoors (with a shorter lifespan). How easy is the film to apply? Very easy, and very quick.
