Anime like rising of the shield Hero Reddit

Hi there everyone

I just finished anime - Rising Shield Hero and it was certainly great show (I hope they will prepare season 2 because it's sad that the anime didn't sum up everything from manga and I wanted to see further development of Naomi and Raphtalia relationship). Can you recommend me similar anime to this one? I mean with:

  • fantasy/magic elements

  • action

  • romance (doesn't need to be main part of the anime)

BTW. Is manga really so short? I saw 56 eps and it was not that far ahead of anime.

Thank you in advance :)

EDIT: Here is my MAL so it would be easier to recommend something (I hope so): https://myanimelist.net/animelist/Infi-

You might check out "Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy", the anime adaption just started airing a few weeks ago. The character is completely abandoned by society similarly to Naofumi and he's left to fend for himself in the wilderness. The problem is that, while he does resent the one responsible for his abandonment, the show really hasn't gotten super dark and continues to have several comedy elements each episode so far.

It honestly has more in common with "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime" given how quickly he gets friends and starts town building (it started publishing light novels before Slime, I wonder if it inspired Slime at all).

As others have mentioned, "Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest" probably fits the themes you're looking for better. I haven't seen the anime but I've heard season 1 is a complete dumpster fire of an adaption though maybe it's still good just as an anime anyway. I've heard the manga and light novels are good but I haven't gotten farther into the manga than a couple volumes because it's so damn dark (literally, not thematically) because he starts out in a cave maze and I have barely any idea what's happening from panel to panel.

It’s urban fantasy (modern-day), but Noragami has a protagonist who’s disliked by his peers, and travels around with some well-developed supporting characters in an attempt to gain a better reputation.

Bofuri is very tonally different compared to Shield Hero (it’s a comedy). But it features a protagonist who only carries a shield and has a fun supporting cast. It never really gets high-stakes or anything, due to the setting it takes place in and because it’s comedy-focused. One of the first things she does is bite a dragon until it dies because she lost her equipment.

And if you just want another decent-quality Isekai, try That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, although the protagonist is a lot more overpowered, and the show focuses more on diplomacy, city development, and exploration, instead of an encroaching threat. Despite that, the protagonist isn’t an immature idiot, so he has his own personality and reasoning for the choices he makes (much like Naofumi).

Hi, I found myself loving this Anime very quickly for two reasons.

  1. The main character is a good person at heart, just had shitty circumstances, isn't all-powerful, and has a strong will. He has to fight against everyone hating him.

  2. His companion of the opposite gender isn't his love interest (at least for a grand majority of the story), and he sees her more as a sidekick of whom he has to take care of, like a loving guardian. I personally sympathize with this, since I love taking care of others, especially children.

So, I ask all of you if you can help me find any other stories including those two elements? Would be greatly appreciated.

PS I've already watched No Game No Life, Log Horizon, Noragami, Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken, Overloard, Sword Art Online and those are the ones just remotely similar I can think of off the top of my head (in terms of the two aspects I outlined).

Is there any anime like The Rising of the Shield Hero?

But just like in The Rising of the Shield Hero, adjusting to a new world is far from easy. Shows like Re:Zero, Grimgar: Ashes and Illusions, and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime show how challenging it can be.

What breed is Raphtalia?

Raphtalia is a young girl with long brown hair and reddish eyes. Being a demi-human with racoon and tanuki ancestry, she has fluffy red tanuki ears and a bushy tail.

Is Rising of the Shield Hero anime finished?

The Rising of the Shield Hero has brought the second season of its run together with the rest of the Spring 2022 anime schedule, and the series is hyping its big finale with a special new trailer highlighting how far Naofumi Iwatani has come over two seasons of the series!

How old is Raphtalia in the anime?

Technically a 10 year old girl, being a demi-human, Raphtalia's body is able to age to that of a young woman as her levels increase.
