LEM Big Bite vs Mighty Bite

Hey I think whatever you go with will be awesome. If I can go all out, I recommend anybody to go with a #32 head if you can swing it. Grinding is not only tedious but wears on machines. I don’t think it’s overkill to size up, in fact you’ll likely do a lot more hunting once youve tried your own sausages. You’ll wanna eat your own meat over grocery store meats.

Also, do go for the separate sausage press instead of stuffing from the grinder. You’ll thank yourself 10x over. Above all, I hope you enjoy your processing!

I could be wrong in my recommendation, and that’s ok. The most important thing is that you do what’s right for you. It’s your meat, it’s your food and it’s your money.

I’m going to buy a grinder to grind a few deer every year. I prefer the price of the mighty bite of coarse but it it isn’t going to get the job done in a reasonable time or I’m going to want to upgrade I may as well got with the big bite #8. Looking to grind a few deer per year and make ground Venison and sausage. Thanks for any suggestions!

I've got the big bite #8 and I love it. It's super solid (heavy) and I can't believe how fast it is grinding 20 lbs of venison. Takes way more time to set up and clean up than to actually grind. I have no experience with the mighty bite, but I highly recommend the big bite of you do a couple of deer a year.

I have a #12 big bite, it's great! Definitely agree, it's more set up and cleanup, also no experience with the mighty bite, unfortunately. If you want any attachments that's only an option on the big bite, big bite has 5 yr vs 2 warranty too. I would highly recommend a dedicated stuffer if your planning on doing much sausage making, especially smaller sizes like snack sticks. Grinders suck at stuffing.

Regarding stuffers, make sure the piston is steel. Some cheaper options use a reinforced plastic which doesn’t hold up.
