WAR in the WOODS 2022 big chief

Those who have been paying attention to Street Outlaws probably noticed that a key face has been missing from the fray. Big Chief has been one of the main pieces of the Street Outlaws puzzle since day one. As the show has evolved and the action has gotten faster, so has Chief, but apparently, the show has evolved to a place where Chief just didn’t want to be a part of it anymore. Therefore, he made his quiet departure from the reality television show. If you’re looking to find out a little bit more about how exactly that went down, we did an entire piece about it here.

However, just because Chief isn’t going to be on television racing anymore doesn’t necessarily mean that he’s giving it up entirely. I mean, this guy has been racing since he was practically in diapers. We would be absolutely shocked to see him completely give up on the passion altogether.

This time, we get to see exactly what Chief is up to now that he has left his reality TV days behind. It seems as if the racer staying in good form as he headed out to War in the Woods 2022 to lay down a couple of passes and see how he would stack up against the competition.

There were some heavy hitters in attendance to give the Street Outlaws fan favorite a real run for his money. In the video below, we catch up with the action thanks to Outlaw Media who was on the scene to capture the action from the event.

Whether or not Chief will eventually make his way back to Street Outlaws is yet to be determined. However, we’re sure that in any situation, he will continue racing at a high level and this is just the beginning of the rest of his racing life!

Take a look at this, Reacting To Big Chiefs “Controversial” Win at War In The Woods!!

Ever since he left the show that he helped build Street Outlaws, it seems like Big Chief has not had a day off.

This guy has been so busy with going to legendary tracks, testing, making videos, and even managed to make time to win an entire event.

Yes, we are talking about the War of The Woods event which has been all over the internet lately with opinions that differ from one another.

While many have been happy with the way Big Chief managed to find the right tune-up for the terrible surface at the Brown County Indiana track, there have been those who would like to take away from his achievement and complain that he got the win by burning the car in the other lane down.

While many have used this excuse before, we all know that burning down your opponent is very frowned upon by other racers for the sole reason it can damage the car quite significantly and cause all sorts of problems during the event.

However, the complaint that these guys had about the way Big Chief stages turns out to be with his huge burnout.

We have all seen the 405 guys do massive burnouts over and over again, and in fact, Big Chief is not the one that usually does to biggest one of them all. If you have followed the 405, it is Ryan Martin who does the longest hallway-down the track type of burnout.

As Sim will try to explain, this is not an effective way to burn anybody down and the reason for it is the fact that the opponent’s car is idling during the burnout so there is no reason for it to get too hot and have any significant drop in performance.

So check out the video and see if you can find any fault with the way Big Chief staged during War in The Woods.

WAR in the WOODS 2022 big chief

Justin “Big Chief” Shearer scored a popular victory in his first no-prep appearance of the season at Brown County Dragway’s “War In The Woods” event Sunday afternoon. Shearer, driving his familiar 1970 Pontiac GTO, the “Crow,” outlasted a host of big-tire challengers over the course of two days of rain-hampered eliminations, ultimately defeating Tim Bailey and his “Krusty” turbocharged C-10 pickup in the final. Shearer had been eyeing and preparing for War In The Woods, put on annually by Jeff Thomas, for weeks leading up to the event at the small, timeless Indiana 1/8-mile.

Shearer and girlfriend, Jackie Braasch, were doing what they do, which was competing at one of the nation’s smallest, trickiest, least-known drag strips, meeting and greeting fans that would otherwise never have the opportunity to see an A-list racer in their own backyard, signing autographs for hours on end…and winning.

Thomas (Small Tire) and Ryan Betz (Hard Tire) joined Shearer as victors of the sixth edition of War In The Woods.
