How to play 2 player Cuphead Switch

Q: Can you play Cuphead with 2 Joycons?

Both players can use any of the consoles Joycon configurations, provided you have enough Joycons to go around. However, using only a single Joycon definitely hinders your ability to do well. I would recommend either using both Joycons or a Pro controller for a better experience.

Super Smash was giving me trouble to play 2 players. Then I discovered you have to go to the Switch home screen, enter in the controller settings and then press L+R on each joycons. When you come back to the game, it will be possible to assign two players. I don't know if it will work for you, worth a try.

With the simple controls i thought this would be playable for 2 players with just my one controller (2 joy cons). Is that just not the case?

I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.

Afterf fumbling around a bit, at the main screen press and hold SL + SR simultaneously on both joy cons. Only one joycon would be functional, until you're on the map where the other can join in.

At the same time, we’ll be working closely with the lovely team at Microsoft to investigate bringing Xbox Live features to the Nintendo Switch version of Cuphead. It’s still early days, so we can’t promise any dates or details on this, but we’ll be tinkering away to see what’s possible in the coming months!

But that’s not all! Included in the Switch version, and coming to the Xbox One, Steam, Mac and PC versions on April 18th is a massive FREE CONTENT UPDATE. This is our biggest (c)update ever, packed to the gills with a bevy of brand new features such as:

- CHARACTER SELECTION! For the first time ever, select Mugman right from the start of your adventure in single player!
- FULLY ANIMATED CINEMATICS! Now, all of the game’s cutscenes play out in fabulous locomotion!

FULLY LOCALIZED TEXT IN ELEVEN ADDITIONAL LANGUAGES!
