The Seed (2.0) is the most famous song ever made by the hip hop band The Roots. It was released in 2003 and nominated for the MTV2 Award at the MTV Video Music Awards. With its unique mix of hip-hop, rock, and psychedelia, the song gathered appreciation from critics and audiences in both the hip-hop genre and the general pop-rock charts. It’s the 2.0 version because it represents a remix of Cody ChesnuTT’s The Seed, released on his album The Headphone Masterpiece in 2002.

The GMC commercial features only the guitar riff.
