Some fans might not worry about this and to be honest Orange is not my favorite color, but I do like variety and I have wondered through the years as to why there has not been a real Orange Ranger in Super Sentai or Power Rangers. Some might think it is a no-brainer that Orange is just not an appealing color. The closest to an Orange Ranger Power Rangers has gotten to is in SPD, Boom had a dream sequence that he was a ranger--had the number Zero and his helmet was a re-colored MegaYellow/Space Ranger helmet. He later donned his own home-made outfit.

Was there an orange Power Ranger?

Battle Cossack can be considered an Orange Ranger, he is the only one in Super Sentai history to have a complete orange suit, but he doesn't look like the others. His Ranger Key in Gokaiger is orange. Maybe Toei doesn't think orange melds well in a 5-core team. Lately they have been using orange in suits like Bouken Silver (thin trim), GekiChopper/Rhino Ranegr (trim all over with white and black) and Deka Swan (half of the suit with white and black). But they could have an orange ranger as a sixth ranger, but commonly sixth rangers are white, green or a metallic color. I think it does have to do with aesthetic and popularity, orange--being a mix of red and yellow, just might be popular among kids. But it hasn't stopped them from making orange mecha/zords, but they probably think a full-on warrior can't cut it.

While most Power Rangers fans know the Red, Blue, Black, Yellow, Pink, Green, and White Rangers from multiple series, that hasn't stopped Saban Entertainment from introducing some wilder and less-known Rangers. The onscreen adventures of the Power Rangers have lasted for over 29 years and the Dino Fury series is currently airing. Two dozen different TV series have chronicled the adventures of 22 different Power Rangers teams, making for an impressive array of heroes.

The sixth or seventh member of each Ranger team usually brings a new color, design or powerful Zord with them. Still, Ranger teams have only scratched the surface when it comes to potential new Rangers. With a near-infinite color palette to pull from, perhaps fans will see even more unique Rangers in future series.

CBR VIDEO OF THE DAY

8/8 Power Rangers Zeo Introduced The Gold Ranger

Jason Scott as the Gold Zeo Power Ranger

Zeo was the next Rangers team to grace the screens of audiences after the success of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Most Mighty Morphin members returned for Zeo, donning new costumes and Ranger colors, like Tommy who ditched his White Ranger duds and became Zeo's Red Ranger leader.

The sixth member of the Zeo Rangers was the Gold Ranger. Trey of Triforia was the first person to don the Gold Ranger costume and the first of the saga to use the golden color. Jason Scott, the original Mighty Morphin Red Ranger, later returned to the series and became Zeo's second Gold Ranger. Despite the name, the Gold Ranger's costume was mostly black with golden gauntlets and shoulder armor.

7/8 Zhane, The Silver Space Ranger, Was A Powerful New Team Member

Power Rangers In Space Silver Ranger

Power Rangers in Space took the franchise to the stars. The team battled powerful alien forces like the demonic monster known as Dark Specter and his apprentice, Andromeda. This series no longer focused on teenagers with attitudes. The Space Rangers were adults dealing with some pretty mature issues. The family dynamics between Red Ranger Andros, and his sister, Andromeda, led to some of the most heartfelt moments of the series.

Space introduced the first Silver Ranger to the franchise. Zhane was teased in one of the first episodes after Andros was forced to place him in a cryogenic tube to heal his near-fatal injuries. When Zhane finally awoke, he assumed his role as the Silver Space Ranger, proving to be nearly as powerful as the other five Space Rangers combined.

6/8 Lightspeed Rescue's Titanium Ranger Went From Villain To Hero

Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue - Titanium Ranger (Ryan Mitchell)

Ryan Mitchell has one of the most interesting and tragic backstories of any Power Ranger in any series. When Ryan was a child he, his sister, and his father were in a car accident. In order to save Ryan's life, Captain Mitchell made a deal with the show's villain, Diabolico.

Ryan was raised to hate his father and the Power Rangers. He stole the Titanium Morpher and became the first Titanium Lightspeed Ranger. Stylistically, the Titanium Ranger is a variation on Silver Ranger seen in Space. Ryan would serve as an antagonist to the Rangers, much like Tommy's Green Ranger was in Mighty Morphin. Ryan eventually reformed, becoming the Lightspeed Rangers' sixth member.

5/8 Crimson & Navy, The Thunder Rangers From Ninja Storm, Introduced Some New Colors To the Pallette

Ninpuu Sentai Hurricaneger all together: the wind rangers and thunder rangers assemble in front of the sea

Hunter and Blake Bradley were trained at the Thunder Ninja Academy after their adoptive parents died. Lothor, the main antagonist of the Power Rangers Ninja Storm TV series, convinced the two brothers that the Wind Rangers were responsible. Hunter and Blake became the Crimson and Navy Thunder Rangers.

The Thunder Rangers proved to be more powerful than the Red, Blue and Yellow Wind Rangers. Thankfully, the brothers would ultimately see through Lothor's lies and join the Wind Rangers. While their costumes are just darker shades of red and blue, Hunter and Blake were the first and only Rangers to use the specific "crimson" and "navy" colors.

4/8 The Many Different Orange Rangers

Tyler Rinker becomes a real life Power Ranger

Several individuals have called themselves the "Orange Ranger" but very few are considered as official Power Rangers. The very first Orange Ranger was seen in Power Rangers S.P.D. Boom was a man who desperately to be a Power Ranger and made his own orange version of the S.P.D. Ranger suits. He once appeared as an official member of the team, but only in a dream sequence.

Skull, popular bully from the Mighty Morphin era, briefly appeared as an Orange Ranger in BOOM! Studios' Power Rangers comic book series. And finally, Tyler Rinker became the official Orange Grid Battleforce Ranger after Hasbro teamed up with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to fulfill Tyler's wish of becoming a real-life Power Ranger.

3/8 Dino Charge Introduces The First Official Purple Ranger

Dino Charge Purple Power Ranger

Though the Wolf Ranger from Power Rangers Jungle Fury sported a purple costume, the first official "Purple Ranger" came in Dino Charge. Albert Smith was the first Purple Dino Charge Ranger, soon replaced by Kendall Morgan. Kendall runs the Amber Beach Dinosaur Museum and is an expert on dinosaurs and the prehistoric era.

Energems, the devices used to morph people into Dino Charge Rangers, need to bond to a worthy individual. Kendall proves herself worthy after trying to assist the Power Rangers in their battle against Sledge. One other Purple Ranger fans may be unaware of is Bulk, the famed bully from the Mighty Morphin era, who briefly became the Purple Ranger in the comics.

2/8 The Dino Charge Graphite Ranger Brings Another Shade Of Gray

Dino Charge introduces the Graphite Power Ranger

Prince Phillip was a wealthy prince of a small country called Zandar. After an encounter with the Dino Charge Power Rangers, Phillip aspired to become one of them. His initial cocky, spoiled attitude makes him unworthy to bond with an Energem. Through hard work and determination, however, Phillip looks to ditch his off-putting personality and become worthy of the Rangers' power.

After saving someone's life, the Graphite Energem chooses Phillip as its host, turning him into the Graphite Dino Charge Ranger. Phillip may share a design similar to Space's Silver Ranger, but he is the first and only Ranger to ever use the "graphite" color.

1/8 Dino Super Charge Introduces The First Aqua Ranger

Super Dino Charge introduces the Aqua Ranger

James Navarro became the franchise's first Aqua Ranger, his vibrant teal color distinguishing him from Dino Charge's Blue Ranger. James first appeared in the Dino Super Charge TV series. After exploring caves with his friend, Rusty, James was trapped after the cave collapsed. He saved Rusty's life by pushing him out of the way of falling debris.

This selfless act activated a nearby Energem. The Energem found James to be worthy of its power, bonding with him and making him the new Aqua Dino Charge Ranger. James would eventually escape the collapsed cave and join the rest of the Dino Charge Power Rangers.

What are the original Power Rangers colors?

John (Red Ranger), Walter Emanuel Jones (Black Ranger), David Yost (Blue Ranger), Thuy Trang (Yellow Ranger), and Amy Jo Johnson (Pink Ranger) as the original five power rangers.
