I honestly might be tooting my own horn here, but I absolutely love the way orange looks with my skin tone. Orange dresses really are it for me. And I think it’s only right I share some outfit ideas and how I wear orange.

I think most people feel intimidated by orange clothing. However, one of the things I had to learn when I started incorporating colors into my wardrobe is the shade matters. More specifically the shade of orange matters. A burnt orange (or dark shades of orange) is going to have a different effect than a neon orange. So, what to wear with orange dress? I always remind people that neutral colors go well with anything, so a great option is always to pair the two if you aren’t ready to make a bold statement.

When most people start wearing different color schemes, they usually refer to a color wheel. It’s probably the easiest way for someone to figure out what colors are going to work well together. Orange and blue are an example of a complementary color combination (think orange maxi dress and blue accessories.) What makes them the perfect complement is because they are on opposite sides of the color wheel.

I know people immediately think of black shoes as the best ways to wear this color. However, there really are so many complementary colors. And I’m not saying that black doesn’t work, but you should explore the different options. I have been building a colorful capsule wardrobe, so I love bold bright colors. And honestly having different color shoes is the best way to step up any outfit. A great way to wear an orange dress during the summer is with a vibrant color sandal. What makeup goes with orange dress?

My favorite way to get any outfit popping is with makeup. I could be wearing an orange outfit that I might consider pretty basic. Then I add a navy blue eyeshadow and it elevates the look. If you are wearing a monochromatic look then the makeup you choose is a perfect way to make a statement. Here I paired an orange skirt with floral designs. It was really easy to make this everyday wear by wearing subtle shades on my lids. Then I added nude lips and nude shoes.

What accessories to wear with orange dress?

Gold accessories are my first go to for my jewelry when I am wearing the color orange (or any color!) Think of some gold hoops and a statement necklace. I most definitely knew when I bought this bright orange dress that I was going to do a brown and orange combo. I started with some brown high heels, a brown handbag, and a brown obi belt to complete the look. If you are looking for a more casual look then a perfect choice would be to throw on a denim jacket.

Which color goes best with orange dress? 

I really cannot pick just one favorite color combination. Orange and yellow. Orange and brown. Purple dresses with an orange pop of color. orange and any print, I have been playing around with cheetah but im sure zebra print would look good too. My advice would be to just play around with some combos. Try a dark orange dress with some bright green shoes!
