5.0 out of 5 stars Clone Wars (and Rebels)

I never thought I’d ever get through the complete series of The Clone Wars and Rebels but I have. Watching them with my young son over a number of years as each series became available on DVD, or as a box set like this, has not only been rewarding (great memories etc.) but also a joy to watch. Of course, not all episodes are as good as each other. Indeed, how could they be, with over 121 episodes in The Clone Wars and 75 in Rebels. But some, nonetheless, stand out as very good, not only in terms of the storyline but also in terms of theme. This is why the episode ‘A World Between Worlds’ in Season 4 of Rebels stands out as one of the finest episodes in the series.

Comparing The Clone Wars to Rebels, I would say that I thought The Clone Wars slightly better, with more interesting stories and a greater variation between them than I found in Rebels. Though, as Rebels progressed, it did improve, with Seasons 2, 3 and 4 producing some of the very best episodes of the whole series.

For what it’s worth, I’ve listed some of the best episodes from both series. You may want to compare them to yours.

I hope you find my review helpful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Collectible Classics

The Clone Wars series has been something I had been meaning to get a few years ago, unfortunately I was too late to the party. Now that Disney+ has a foot hold in the Clone Wars series, now that the finale Season 7 has been released on the Streaming platform exclusively, this show will be a rarity to find in regards to finding hard copies, DVD, Blu-ray etc.

Since the disc copies have been discontinued by Disney, I suggest you get your hands on these whenever you can. The series is fantastic and is based on the events set within the Clone Wars, as you would expect. You get to see more of our Heros defending the Universe against the Seperatists Droid Army and the Sith. You will see General Grievous, Dath Maul and even Count Dooku along with other interesting characters such as the young Boba Fett and his journey.
You will not be disappointed buying these classics, which are now a rarity. So don't hesitate to get these. Hopefully, at some point in the future, they will be available again to purchase in disc form.

4.0 out of 5 stars I had reservations but I'm GLAD I got it!

I had heard of the Clone Wars series but had never seen it and wasn't convinced as a Star Wars fan it was of any interest to me (besides it was CGI animation) however, after seeing Solo and the bizarre reappearance of a character who we'd seen killed in one of the films because of a story in The Clone Wars, I decided to look into it and I'm glad I did. This series is a very well put together little show, the scenery and vehicles feel as though it's like watching a Star Wars movie and the renders of the organic elements (creatures, etc.) is acceptably good. Moreover from the featurettes one realises this isn't merely a concept George Lucas started and left others to make, Lucas clearly set out many of the storylines, parameters and characters that he wanted told in the narrative and sent the team off to make them. I'm currently 2 seasons in and it's fantastic filling in many blanks and developing many loved characters that we only glimpse in the time constraints of the films. Highly recommended.

MUST have for all star wars fans, and a must watch canon series. Looks just flawless on Blu-ray, especially the later seasons.

Packed with a ton of special features, amazing on every disk, covering every arc and every drop of concept art, and creation concepts vaults etc.

Worth every penny guys, get them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant

This is a superb series and an excellent value for money box set. The whole series is pretty much faultless, a host of great characters, great stories superb animation, fantastic production design. I just loved it. Star Wars seems to have become a difficult story to tell on the big screen, partly (perhaps) because expectations are so high and partly (perhaps) because some of the more recent storytelling just felt stilted and weak. None of this with Clone Wars. Rather than piggy back the success of the big screen adventure, the writers and designers have created a host of great new characters, new worlds and storylines that add immeasurably to the depth and complexity of the Star Wars universe. Star Wars Rebels is also great. In my opinion Clone Wars is the stronger of the two (by a smidgeon), but Rebels is still very good and definitely worth a watch.
