Do you get to use the current stats you have if you go back and replay a chapter 2 mission?

Do you also keep your guns and ammo and health items?

I ask becuase getting gold on some of these is going to be hard if I have to replay them with no dead eye tonics.

Bloody_Moon1 4 years ago#2

No.

It resets pretty much everything to back. Your guns, your money, your stats, you ammo.

Everything.

They take alll ur equipment and items, u have a completely basic loadout. Basically making getting golds for some impossible if u want all golds ur best bet it to keep trying the first time u do it till u get gold. Also have to get every objective in one run without reloading checkpoints either

That's kinda s***.

You don't even keep your horse in replay.

Ninjaluver (Topic Creator)4 years ago#6

Thats the dumbest s*** I have ever heard.

SpiritualBegga 4 years ago#7

So wait, if I have silver now, do I have to do everything in one go?
If that's the case, I won't even bother.
Platinum is out of my reach anyway because I don't care about online play.

Is there a way to see the necessary objectives to get gold during a mission? I haven't tried looking at the log during a mission yet.

Press either left or right dpad, and somewhere in the sub menu it'll show the objectives, only works when replaying missions though.

No consumbles either, so no dead eye bascially. I'm sure they're all possible, but no fun and i don't think it's how it's intended to be, i'm waiting to see if they change it b4 bothering. They make a big deal about how the game makes a save that'll you'll restore to after, so i assume that save was also meant to be used when replaying the missions and they forgot to add it, pretty bad if not.

Level 2 Stamina and Deadeye at the end of Chapter 3? That's not even possible if you only played story missions. There's more than enough missions that require accuracy or headshots, so clearly gun fights involved, there is no f***ing way you would be at these levels by the time you played these missions. Whoever scaled this is one sick son of a b****.

i_like_rpgz 3 years ago#2

Agreed.

Plus the horse is just terrible. I'm convinced some of these replay missions are impossible with the horse they give you. It doesn't have the stamina to make it from Point A to Point B within the time limits for the gold in many situations.

LOLSUP_IMSGOOD (Topic Creator)3 years ago#3

Oh my god the horse. If only we could still put a bullet in their heads. What a useless horse.

Minamo 3 years ago#4

You have to save before every mission and retry that way. Otherwise some of them become nearly impossible or require precision maneuvering. Even the first mission with Swanson where he's drunk requires you to perfectly ride back to camp and hitch your horse as fast as possible; if you even take a few extra seconds to hitch your horse because its finicky you won't get gold and you have to play unskippable dialogue poker all over again.

This does nothing for the people who are at 100% completion and going for their last trophy. Rockstar really did not think this through. You get no items and default stats. But you're expected to perform feats that would still be fairly challenging with stats on par to the chapter. And like said above, several of them are "return X to Y in time" meanwhile you get the slowest, dumbest son of a b**** horse there ever was.

You should really just restart the game. It's the least painful route, especially since you're going to have to replay most of the missions anyway.

Restarting a 100% save with the skinner trophies sure doesn't sound like the easiest route to me.

I beat the story and just made a new save for 100% because I realized it was BS pretty early. I'm not defending the s***-ass replay system, just offering a pseudo-solution until/if they patch it (and since it doesn't involve milking their online bison dollar moneypot it'll go untouched).

LOLSUP_IMSGOOD (Topic Creator)3 years ago#9

I know I'm just frustrated. I need like 16 more and they all require some obscene level of accuracy and headshots but I'm given jack s*** to do it with. I wanted this all done before online launches.

Crim-V 3 years ago#10

If you

missed out on skinning / studying the unique animals on Guarma you have to restart anyway, unless the glitch to return to Guarma is anything to rely on.

Assuming you're going for the Platinum... I'm not sure if 100% is tied to that.

What happens if I replay a mission in RDR2?

When you replay a mission it doesn't effect anything from your progress. It basically places a default Arthur in play, ie, gunslinger outfit regardless of what you were wearing at time of missions. It's purely for getting the gold achievements, it won't effect your main story.

Does RDR2 have good replay value?

there is somewhat of a replay value, when finished you can continue to explore the world and do side missions in the prologue. There are also a large about of side missions in single player that are optional along with easter eggs. I'm having even more fun in the second playthrough. No pressure doing main quests.

How many hours is RDR2 100%?

When focusing on the main objectives, Red Dead Redemption 2 is about 50 Hours in length. If you're a gamer that strives to see all aspects of the game, you are likely to spend around 174 Hours to obtain 100% completion.

Can I replay side missions in RDR2?

The latest title from Rockstar Games in Red Dead Redemption 2 offers players the ability to replay missions and quests in order to earn a higher rating or relive the wild adventures of Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde Gang.
