Show So here I was, playing explorers of sky, and decided to do one of those missions where you escort a pokemon into a new dungeon. More specifically, I was escorting an Omastar in midnight forest. Oh boy was that an experience. Midnight forest is relatively short being just 25 floors deep, and the twenty fifth floor doesn't have any pokemon on it. Everything in this dungeon easily kills omastar. Common suspects include rosalia which can use plant-type attacks to get a certain kill in on omastar, as well as ledians doing their aoe shenanigans with silver wind to get a 50/50 chance of oneshotting omastar from any distance. Both of these spawn on all floors. Ledians would aoe omastar from adjacent tunnels where they can't be reached, or ambush my party in water and kill a defenceless omastar. Omastar would often block my party members from helping him, meaning I wouldn't reach him in time to save his ass. When we got into a monster house, I usually couldn't kill all the ledians with discharge, making omastars death unavoidable. No problem, gotta get those reviver seeds right? Maybe go in alone with him so I can react to guys coming from behind? From floors 10-20 rotom spawns. This FUCKER, this absolute orange juicebag, always has ominous wind, and can use it from inside walls to hit everyone in your party, usually killing that omastar right away. After using it, it commonly speeds up from ominous wind and is able to use IT AGAIN straight away. On many occasions, I would try to move in a tunnel where rotom was inside the wall and thus unreachable, but omastar would stay and try to fight it, even though he couldn't hit it. So there I am, stepping in between and looking the rotom inside the wall straight in the eye as it beats us to death without us hitting it back once. I remember once almost reaching the stairs on a floor, just for an ominous wind to come seemingly out of nowhere, as a rotom steps out of the wall, omastar yet again KO:d. I would try to get close, so they would only target me and not ominously wind us. Then when I miss an attack, the ominous wind animation starts, my heart stops and omastar is again koed. Alternatively, if ominous wind didn't kill, rotoms would speed up and just use ominous wind again, killing not only omastar but also me, without me being allowed to react. So this short dungeon with mediocre music at best ended up costing me over twelve reviver seeds and seven attempts to complete. It might not be so bad overall, but it definitely ruined my day 🤦🤷 Thanks rotom Who is the best partner in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky?I recommend a Skitty leader + Treecko partner combo, because Skitty is the best of the bunch, and Treecko has got a lot of great support moves (Agility, Quick Attack) and can deal with most enemies that give Skitty trouble with its Grass draining moves.
