  2. Former Employee, more than 3 years

    Pros

If you enjoy having no social life, being blamed for mistakes that you did not make, and treated like cattle (only after you hire on), then PLC will have many "pros" for you. If you are good at brown nosing and bending over often, then you will likely succeed at PLC.

    Cons

There are two sides to this company, the electrician and the engineering side. My experience is with the engineering side, although it seems the electricians I have spoken with share similar experiences and feelings. If you have "manager" in your title, you will be paid well, at least. However everyone else will be recruited with enthusiasm and grandiose promises of a fantastic working environment only to be met with increasing stressors and frustrations after the honeymoon is over. You will be expected to be a fully functional member after a month or so, even though your "training" is composed of someone who has literally been told "these new hires will take your job". There is micro-management from the top, and "discussions" that has included yelling obscenities over a mistake or two despite the root cause of said mistake(s) stemming from a lack of structure and/or training. Essentially, you will be shooting from the hip most of the time, and expected to hit a bullseye each and every time. If (when) you don't, you will be threatened, intimidated, and cursed at.
