Even if two cards have the same OVR, that doesn’t mean that both are comparable. One could be an offensive machine, while another could be a well-rounded item. It can be tough to find the right cards, but we can help with that. Now that MLB The Show 22 has been out for some time, we have had time to evaluate Diamond Dynasty cards, and the meta game as a whole. So, which cards should you target? Let’s take a look at our list of the best cards in Diamond Dynasty. CHere’s a look at our picks for the best catchers in MLB The Show 22:
The pool of catchers has grown over the past month, thanks to the addition of three new 99 OVR cards. The two that we are most interested in is Jason Kendall and Francisco Alvarez. Kendall is a rarity among catchers, as the former Pirate has above-average speed for his position, to go along with solid field, decent power, and plus contact. Additionally, that 124 Vision stat will come in handy quite a bit. Alvarez, on the other hand, has a bit better defense, and much better power. It’s practically a wash between the two, but we’ll go with Kendall thanks to his overall attribute layout. 97 OVR Mike Napoli rounds out the top three. InfieldersNow, let’s take a look at the best infielders in MLB The Show 22, starting with first base. 1B

The meta outfield hasn’t changed a whole lot over the past month, as stars like 99 OVR Juan Soto, 99 OVR Andrew McCutchen, and 98 OVR Julio Rodriguez still remain strong options. However, some new ones like BR reward Larry Walker and Ranked Seasons reward Willie Mays can be strong secondary options. Walker, in particular, comes very close to supplanting Soto, thanks to the Canadian’s better contact, speed, and fielding. However, Soto’s overall batting profile and live quirks do give the former National a slight edge. PitchersSPLet’s move on to the pitchers. Here’s a look at our picks for best starting pitchers:
RPAnd for the relievers:
The starting pitcher pool received a number of significant upgrades, with new names include 99 OVR Pedro Martinez, 99 OVR Cole Hamels, and 99 OVR Johnny Cueto. Cueto, in particular, should be an interesting name to watch going forward. 99 OVR Cueto has 113 H/9, 106 K/9, along with a repertoire and delivery should make hitting the current White Sox difficult. As far as the reliever market goes, that has seen an even greater upheaval. Billy Wagner and Aroldis Chapman should make for some interesting ABs against left-handed hitters, while Joe Smith can provide a nice change of pace from high-velocity pitchers. Plus, that 125 H/9 isn’t too bad, either. Note: This list is as of September 2022. This guide will be updated regularly to include new cards added to Diamond Dynasty.
