Demonfall Best Breathing – Tier S

Tier S: The Best breathings of the game

  • Sun Breathing: Sun Breathing is an end-game Breathing Style that revolves around close-ranged and delayed attacks. Due to having many block breakers, a Sun Breathing user should always play more aggressively while relying on the iFrame move to escape combos
  • Moon Breathing: Moon Breathing is a very skill-based breathing style. It’s moveset revolves around multi-ranged combo extenders and instantaneuos attacks, making it ideal for combos and poking. It’s a great choice in PvE, but it requires a lot of grinding to get
  • Insect Breathing: Powerful moves and stats for PvE and PvP, one of the most balanced breathings in the game

Demonfall Best Breathing – Tier A

Tier A: Above the average breathings

  • Water Breathing: This breathing style revolves around punishing and countering attacks. Due to the amount of moves that are perfect for punishing and give high mobility, it is recommended to dash backwards out of a combo, that you have blocked, and then use a lunging attack from this breath style to start your combo
  • Mist Breathing: Mist focuses on making quick attacks then quickly fading away, which is why this breathing has 1 I-frame move and 1 teleporting move. This is one of the best breathings for combos and has had frequent nerfs due to how good the combos can be
  • Flame Breathing: Flame Breathing’s moveset revolves around offense and countering. Due to how versatile the moves are, they can be used for mobility, offense, and defense. There is a counter move, and guardbreaking moves. They are all very fast in terms of cast time

Demonfall Best Breathing – Tier B

Tier B: Below the average breathings

  • Thunder Breathing: Thunder Breathing’s moveset revolves around teleporting and doing M1s to start very deadly combos. Most of the moves do low damage but are easy to hit. Thunder also has 2 moves that teleport around the target allowing for another M1 combo, Rice Spirit and Thunder Swarm

Tier C

Tier C: The worst breathings of the game

  • Wind Breathing: Wind Breathing has the most guard breaks out of any breathing with a total of 3 moves. Wind Breathing is good for ranged attack and has the most range out of all of the breaths
  • Beast Breathing: Beast focuses on close ranged attacks, which is why there is only close ranged skills
  • Love Breathing: Love Breathing emphasizes on high-speed slashes and combos, and this is also obtainable as a Hybrid
  • Serpent Breathing: Serpent Breathing emphasizes on slow forward slashes

Breathing Styles in Demonfall serve as a way for players to have the upper hand in fights against demons—without them, the demons would be unmatchable. These Breathing Styles are taught to trainers by the Demon Slayer Corps, who then teach them to the players. In this guide, we'll be breaking down our tier list of the best learnable Breathing Styles in Demonfall.

S Tier

  • Sun Breathing
    • Sun Breathing may be a bit of an out as the Breath of the Sun is what all Breathing Styles stem from, but even still, its power and ability is too outstanding not to be first on this list. Sun Breathing not only outputs an insane amount of damage on its own, but it also offers an overpowered guard break and infinite combo ability. Its passive attack is also a burn on anyone that you come into combat with.
      • Learnable through Tanjiro.
  • Moon Breathing
    • Moon Breathing is basically equivalent as Sun Breathing, so the same reasons for tier placement apply.
      • Learnable through Kokushibou.
  • Insect Breathing
    • Insect Breathing may take a bit more time and patience to master. However, once you do, it'll award you with some very powerful moves. Insect Breathing is also unique because both its PvE and PvP moves and stats are extremely strong, making it one of the best Breathing Styles in Demonfall. This style also passively poisons those who you attack.
      • Learnable through Shinobu but requires 10 thousand in-game currency.

A Tier

  • Flame Breathing
    • Flame Breathing is a great Breathing Style for beginners as it's not overly complicated or hard to use. It offers an impressive range for a simpler style and allows players to attack through enemy blocks which is exceptionally helpful. The passive attack for Flame Breathing also resembles that of Sun Breathing with a fiery sword that leaves enemies with a prolonged burn.
      • Learnable through Rengoku.
  • Mist Breathing
    • Mist Breathing succeeds the most in PvP fights but can also hold its weight in various other battle styles as well. Similar to Flame Breathing, Mist Breathing offers a good amount of range on top of its heavy combo attack damage. Where it lacks in passive attack damage, it makes up for in its overall damage output.
      • Learnable through Tokito.

B Tier

  • Water Breathing
    • Water Breathing can almost stand with the ranks of Flame and Mist Breathing, but it just barely falls short. While it offers an impressive 15% regen after successfully landing attacks on enemies, its lack of range takes a good amount of power away from this ability. Water Breathing offers some strong combos and the ability to escape purgatory, so it's not a bad style choice by any means.
      • Learnable through Urokodaki but requires two thousand in-game currency.

C Tier

  • Thunder Breathing
    • Though Thunder Breathing offers a passive enemy stun after hitting certain moves, its number of blockable attacks and auto-locks take away from any real benefits that it has. It's not a terrible Breathing Style but it's just not one of the best.
      • Learnable through Kujima but requires four thousand in-game currency.

D Tier

  • Wind Breathing
    • This one probably isn't shocking, but Wind Breathing falls to the bottom of this list. It's not unusable or terrible, it actually offers a decent amount of damage and allows players a quicker walk and sprint speed, but compared to the rest of the Breathing Styles in Demonfall it just doesn't hold up.
      • Learnable through Grimm.
