How to get rid of hardness after lipo

I had lipo of abdominal area and waist on January 4, 2014. I am 5'7" and weigh 150. I have worn the CG 24/7 until about a week ago. I had a series of six lymphatic massages, have been walking or swimming daily for an hour for last six weeks. Until a week ago I did self messages daily. My abdominal area is still HARD; therefore it is not flat. I had 2,000 cc removed during procedure. Waist looks great. WILL the abdominal area ever soften or hard as a rock here to stay?

How to get rid of hardness after lipo

A quite popular body-contouring operation, liposuction can be applied to both men and women. People having fat accumulations, which resist to regular diet and exercises, in certain areas and particularly in abdomen, hips, and thigh despite having their ideal weight or near their ideal weight are suitable candidates for liposuction. On the other hand, since some different factors such as the general medical condition and skin elasticity of the person also affect the liposuction decision, being suitable for the operation should be determined following the evaluations made specific to the person.

Liposuction is a procedure that can be applied with different techniques. The techniques applied may cause different levels of hardnesses and swellings in the body of the patient. Compared to the classical liposuction technique, it can be said that the laser liposuction technique causes minimal hardness and swelling.

In order to have the most effective results after the liposuction application and to have a fast and healthy recovery process, the patient should completely comply with the doctor’s recommendations. It is possible that there are swellings and hardnesses in the treated area following the application. The swelling in the application area generally continues for 1-2 weeks. During this period, the patient should wear the compression clothes recommended by the doctor and should follow the suggested diet and massage. Therefore, it can be possible to reduce the swelling in the area and to accelerate the recovery process.

A large part of the swelling in the application area appears within 1 to 3 weeks following the liposuction operation. At the end of the first week, patients generally start feeling better every passing day. 1-2 weeks after the liposuction operation, the swelling in the area transforms into a hardness that lasts for 3 months on average. In fact, this hardness is an indication of the recovery of the treated areas. The hardness softens over time, and the excess fluid and swelling disappear. Meanwhile, the new figure of the patient starts becoming more apparent in the mirror.

Compression clothes should be worn for the specified period

One of the best ways to reduce the swelling in the area following the liposuction application is to regularly wear the compression cloth for the specified period.

Following the liposuction operation, swelling is generally observed depending on the inflammation and the accumulation of lymph fluids. Compression garments impart pressure to the treated area, allowing lymphatic fluids to be reabsorbed. As a result, lymphatic fluids do not accumulate under the skin and cause edema.

Lymphatic Drainage Massages Can Help Prevent Swelling

After liposuction surgery, lymphatic drainage massages help to minimize swelling. It’s important to remember that the focus of lymphatic drainage massage should be on the skin’s surface. As a result, mild touches should be used when massaging the skin, and deep tissue massage should be avoided.

The skin should be gently tugged and stretched, not rubbed, when performing lymphatic drainage massage after liposuction. The lymphatic vessels beneath the skin can be stimulated in this way. It should be administered slowly in the direction of the lymphatic system’s flow, from the wrist to the shoulder or from the ankle to the knee. However, lymphatic drainage massage should not be performed if the swelling location is infected.

Don’t Be Afraid to Take Short Walks

After the liposuction procedure, the tiny vessels in the application region are linked to each other 2-3 days later. Physical exertion should be restricted at this time when the body is repairing itself. There’s a risk of significant swelling if you don’t.

The patient might take short walks in the room to lessen the risk of blood clot formation during the first 48 hours. Mild physical activity should be resumed after the first two days of limiting movement to lessen the risk of blood clotting.

Walking, for example, stimulates the lymphatic system, which prevents the buildup of lymphatic fluids in the body. It has the effect of decreasing edema in this way. After the first three days, patients are usually asked to gradually increase their physical activities. Patients who require a particular exercise regimen and a strict diet can usually begin moderate exercise within two weeks.

Patients’ activity levels are determined based on their daily habits prior to liposuction surgery. However, because rehabilitation differs from person to person, a doctor’s consent is required before increasing the amount of activity.

A well-balanced nutrition plan should be implemented.

Applying a balanced nutrition regimen after liposuction surgery is one of the most crucial factors for the effects to be at the target level and to be lasting. To reduce the swelling that may occur following liposuction surgery, restrict salt and alcohol consumption.

Increased salt levels in the body can lead to increased water retention. Increased bloating can also be caused by alcohol, which is a dehydrating agent.

Patience is required for healing.

How to get rid of hardness after lipo

Because the effects of liposuction surgery are not immediately visible owing to edema, some patients may be disappointed and have bad feelings. This, on the other hand, should be viewed as a normal component of the healing process. The body of each patient, as well as the body’s response to the healing process, is unique. Swelling in the area where liposuction was performed might last for up to 6 months, depending on the patient. As a result, while the surgery’s effects are noticeable over time, the final outcomes are visible with the total removal of edema. Another crucial consideration at this stage is to have reasonable expectations for liposuction surgery results. It should not be forgotten that maintaining a healthy weight is the most significant aspect determining the long-term success of the liposuction treatment.
