I know it can't be "healthy" but I am now averaging around one sleeve of saltine crackers a day (approx 40 crackers or 400 calories) as it helps with nausea and upset stomach... I guess it's something and better than eating nothing... Also, thank God they're inexpensive...I had a friend who craved steak when preggo...at least I have cheap taste Please note that some foods may not be suitable for some people and you are urged to seek the advice of a physician before beginning any weight loss effort or diet regimen. One sleeve of soda crackers, or saltines, contains about 40 crackers, though this number varies slightly depending upon the specific manufacturer. My search is over for the perfect easy meatloaf. Excellent flavor.. I think the Worcestershire really does the trick. I used red onion for the grated onion, which I grated on the finest grating blade. I only had 1 cup of breadcrumbs, so I used cracker crumbs for the remaining cup. This makes 2 meatloaves, about 8 slices each loaf. icons / ellipsis / ellipsis-horizontal HeatherFeather Reply
I've been forgetting to review this. I first made it back in October and we've had it several times since then. It is SOOOOOO good. I make it with 2.5 pounds of ground turkey, a sleeve of crushed saltine crackers, and a least 5 T worcestershire. I cook it for 45 minutes, put the ketchup on and cook it another 30 minutes. The comment box is over the instructions, so I can't see how many loaves it says to make. I make two and place them at either end of a 9x13 dish. Thank you for this great recipe! icons / ellipsis / ellipsis-horizontal mliss29 Reply
I made this on 10/14/07,and since it was just me(I only get meatloaf when SO isn't home)I cut this recipe in half.Even as I was mixing this,I thought that there was way too much breadcrumbs. And after tasting the finished product,I was right. If I do make this again I'm going to use just a 1/2 cup of crumbs, and maybe add some garlic powder.Thank you for posting, and "Keep Smiling:)" With this classic Christmas treat, saltine crackers get a double dunking: first in caramel and then in chocolate. The result is a salty, crunchy, chocolate-covered treat that's nearly impossible to stop eating. 1:36 How to Make Christmas Cracker CandyWhat Is Christmas Cracker Candy?Constant stirring as you make the caramel mixture gives you a finished candy that's closer to the texture of pralines than English toffee. You have a deep caramel flavor, but the bites are fairly soft and easy to chew. The crispiness comes from the crackers themselves. Ways to Top Your Cracker CandyYou can get fancy and sprinkle nuts, coconut flakes, or holiday-colored sprinkles on top if you want, but I’m a purist when it comes to my Christmas cracker candy. I like it just as is. The only thing I might consider is a sprinkling of crunchy Maldon sea salt on top of the chocolate to make them even more crunchy and salty. But I’m fearful that if I do that, I might not stop eating them! Is This the Same As Christmas Crack? We used to call this delicious treat "Christmas Crack," which is its most common name. But several readers wrote asking us to change the name because it makes light of something that is a very real addiction for many people. We agree, hence this recipe's new name "Christmas Cracker Candy." How Prevent the Layers From SeparatingThe chocolate layer separating from the caramel layer is a common problem with Christmas cracker candy. Here are a few tips to help prevent that from happening:
Sometimes despite all your best efforts, the chocolate melts at a temperature that makes it shrink when it hardens, pulling it away from the toffee layer. Next time, try a different brand of chocolate. Ways to Adapt This Recipe

You can use darker chocolate with higher percentages of cacao, but these chocolates sometimes become brittle and separate from the cracker layer. We recommend cooling this candy overnight in the fridge since cooling in the freezer can cause the chocolate layer and the cracker layer to separate when you break the candy. If you need to freeze, let the crackers warm up for about 10 minutes before cracking. Ingredients
