How Long Does It Take To Beat Tiny Tina's Wonderlands?

How long does it take to 100% Tiny Tinas wonderlands?

By Cody D. Campbell/March 23, 2022 2:39 pm EST

The latest addition to the "Borderlands" franchise has gone in a new direction. Rather than being set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland overrun by bandits and jam packed with guns, "Tiny Tina's Wonderlands" is set in a magical world overrun with monsters... and jam-packed with guns. It takes place within a "Dungeons and Dragons" parody called "Bunkers and Bada***s" where the controversial Tiny Tina (voiced by Ashley Burch) is the game master and the player controls one of the characters, making it a sort of game within a game. This is an exciting prospect for fans who are eager to experience Gearbox Software's signature chaotic, action-packed gameplay in a new setting, but it also raises some questions. Is the game cross-platform? What's included in the season pass? And how long is it?

Side games are often much shorter than numbered entries in a series, so it's only natural for fans to wonder how long it takes to beat "Tiny Tina's Wonderlands." Well, reviews are finally rolling in and a clear picture of the game's length is starting to come into focus. Here's what we know about the game's length.

Seems to be standard Borderlands length

Character facing dragon

Leon Hurley of GamesRadar posted in his review that the main story took him about 25-30 hours as he bounced back and forth between the main campaign and several of the side stories and challenges. Windows Central reported a similar experience, calling it a 20-30 hour "nice bite-sized sample of "Borderlands." Meanwhile, Cog Connected stated that there's "nearly 30 hours of main quest and side content, plus an open-ended mode after you've finished the campaign," while IGN reported a slightly faster main game run, stating that the campaign would most likely be beaten at around 20 hours. After that, players will unlock an endgame activity called the Chaos Chamber where they can continue to battle variations of previous combat encounters.

Surprisingly enough, it seems that these reports fit into the standard length of most of the mainline "Borderlands" games. HowLongToBeat reports that the average gameplay time for the main story of "Borderlands," Borderlands 2," and "Borderlands 3" is 22h 44m, 30h 32m, and 23h 12m, respectively. The 20-30 hour times reported for  "Tiny Tina's Wonderlands" seem to fit squarely into this range. Although it's worth noting that side content and DLC will likely extend playtime considerably for those who wish to go beyond the main story.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is a new Borderlands spin-off game, letting fan-favorite character Tiny Tina take center stage. While players won’t be playing as the eccentric, explosive-loving Tina, they will be playing in her version of Dungeons and Dragons. Tina is the dungeon master, and you play as a Fatemaker in her world while taking on all manner of enemies and using new spells to take down threats. It’s a bombastic journey that seems like a true thrill ride, but there are still plenty of questions surrounding the new release.

Whenever a single-player campaign releases, one of the first things players ask is how long they can expect to play it. While the answer is sometimes far from the expectation, like with Elden Ring, most of the time the average playtime is what players can roughly expect. With Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, players’ experience will depend on how much content they’re willing to absorb.

Beating Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

According to initial reports from reviewers, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands takes an average of around 15 hours to beat. This is based on players just completing the main story and not partaking in any side quests or additional content. Of course, it also depends on the player’s difficulty level. Playing on Easy Mode will likely yield a shorter time to beat than if you played on the hardest difficulty level.

If players want to throw in side quests on their journey, they can expect that average of 15 hours to go up significantly. Reviewers reported that some side quests can take roughly an hour to complete. This means if players want to complete every side quest, they might come close to doubling that 15 hours.

For the average player who dabbles in side content and plays on Normal Mode, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will likely take around 20 hours to beat. This is the standard for single-player campaigns as of late, and it’s a solid chunk of time to spend playing a game.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands comes out soon and the max level cap has been revealed along with an average length of time for how long to beat the game.

Most reviews of the game are positive. They all seem to agree that it’s an adventure Borderlands fans will enjoy, and its new direction into fantasy and magic may entice newcomers.

If you are a returning Borderlands fan, you will be pleased to hear that the game is much longer than the Assault on Dragon Keep DLC.

Gamespot reports that the game’s story length is just 14-hours. They also claim that the length of side quests varies with some lasting an hour while others are only between 15 and 30-minutes.

IGN‘s review states that the story is 20-hours long. They also say that there is an endgame activity called the Chaos Chamber. This is said to be a variation on combat encounters that benefits from a high degree of difficulty and roguelike mechanics plus rewarding loot and XP.
