Show Description[]Combustible is the name used for items that will burn as a fuel source for either a Campfire, Forge, or Chemistry Station. These Combustibles will allow the player to melt scrap inside a Forge, in addition to cooking food on a Campfire, or making chemical or other obscure items at the Chemistry Station. Some items are, of course, easier to get hold of than others, and this should be considered before burning rarer items. All items have a relatively reasonable burn time based on the item itself. A single piece of Wood will burn for 50 seconds, which is reasonable, as mature trees can drop hundreds of Wood. A piece of Coal, while able to be harvested in almost the same amounts, will burn for 100 seconds. Quick Tip[]
Combustible items[]Below is a table that details all known combustible items that may be used as fuel. This list is not exhaustive and is subject to constant changes, especially while in Alpha.

How do I fuel a fire in 7 days to die?Fuels are placed in the cells below the tool cells. The Campfire can be turned on either with the on/off button below the fuel, or by starting a new recipe. The Campfire will not turn off automatically unless all the fuel is expended.
