We are waiting for GetHuman-lomalom to fix the problem and share the solution with the rest of us customers.

Since PayPal sends the account holder a text message with a confirmation code to log in, a lot of owners can’t log in to their PayPal accounts. Maybe that phone number is outdated and the account holder never took the time to update it in settings. I should know.

Here’s the quick verified solution. It took me less than one minute after waiting for weeks from the PayPal support team. This is how I was able to log in to my PayPal account without being sent a text message with a confirmation code.

Solution

Step 1: Visit an online shop where PayPal is accepted. Choose any shop you want. You can also use mine if you like (click “Themes” on this website’s menu).
Step 2: Act as if you’d purchase an item. Magdalena told us in comments that it works only to pay some low price purchase, keep this in mind. So click on Buy Now/Add to cart, select PayPal as your payment method and enter your PayPal email address & password when asked. (Remember you do not have to go with this purchase through. Just enter these PayPal email and password without completing the payment. You should now see yourself logged in to PayPal in the small window store.)
Step 3: Open a new window from the same browser and visit PayPal’s dashboard. Surprise! You are now logged in. That’s it!

Remember to update your phone number from your PayPal settings. After all, this is why you got stuck in the first place.

I attempted to register a PayPal account but couldn’t because “There is already a PayPal account connected to my email address”. (I had one (a PayPal account) over 10 years ago when I had a different phone number.

(I couldn’t sign in to the old account, because they couldn’t call me at the old # and there was no way to change the #. Pay Pal Help said “go to SETTIINGS to change the phone no., but you have to be IN your account before you can get into SETTINGS, and I couldn’t Sign In because of the wrong phone #.

How can I solve this problem?

PayPal’s log-in process wouldn’t let me continue to Log in after asking me to confirm a number that was 12 years old & not mine any more & I couldn’t change it to my current one.

I did the above & Got this reply form the Help Centre:

“Sorry, we're unable to display this information. Please try again soon.”

After trying different methods to contact them for a whole week-end.

I tried sending them a message through their FaceBook page & got this answer:

“Sorry, I don’t understand.” I really did use simple English.

Steps on how to change phone number on PayPal without logging in:

First of all, log in to your PayPal account. !!!!
Go to Settings.
Click on Update choice in order to edit the existing information.
Enter the new phone number if you have PayPal phone number changed in the field provided.
Click on update number.
In case, you want to assign a brand-new number, then click on “+” icon.
Click on the Add range choice.
After adding a brand range to your PayPal account, you will have to verify the amount also

So why does the first step in your solution read; “First of all, log in to your PayPal account.”?

I found the same issue. Every form of help also asks for you to use the mobile number associated with the account but a) I can't remember it and b) it's not in use so I can't receive codes to it anyway.

Can't find any information anywhere to resolve this.
