Fitbit Sense vs Galaxy watch 3 Reddit

So I had a galaxy watch frontier which is still pretty similar in specs to the galaxy watch 3. The rotating bezel is amazing and the screen is really good. I didn't mind tizen at all. I did find that the heart rate metrics were....off on the galaxy watch which reviewers are still saying about the galaxy watch 3. The gps was also not accurate. I find that my sense is really good for everything (biking, walking, running) except rowing. For some reason when I row my heart rate stays super low until after like 10 min to "warm up". Not having a rowing workout mode is also a huge bummer. Buuuuuut, the sense is really good at sleep tracking. Like phenomenal. And the sp02 trends are really nice to see with covid stuff. I know the samsung has sp02 but I don't know if they show trends? And the battery with the sense is a game changer. I came from an apple watch before the sense and I hated daily charging.

So pro for sense: sp02,app, watch faces and screen, google assistant instead of bixby, battery life 4-5 days. Great as a smartwatch.

Con: No rowing mode, weight lifting doesn't track reps (not sure if samsung does but my garmin did), heart rate tracking fails on interval heart rate stuff. No offline spotify.

Pro for galaxy watch: Rotating bezel, bands not proprietary, tizen os easy to navigate.

Cons: 2 dayish battery life from what I've read, Sp02 probably not as detailed. GPS and heart rate not very accurate. Bixby, ugh.

My two cents, if you care about workout above all else get a garmin. They have been by far the best fitness tracking for me personally and I've had several (I've had venue, vivoactive 4, forerunner 645 between my wife and I). The venue was definitely better looking with the screen but no where near as nice as a smartwatch as the fitbit or samsung.

Beauty truly is, as they say, in the eye of the beholder.

I've owned Fitbit, Garmin, and Galaxy watches. For the use case the OP described, I would personally recommend a Garmin watch, and that's what is on my wrist right now.

I didn't find the Venu 2 to be "built like a 1980s Casio" -- it's build quality is honestly not that much different from the GW4 although sure I will agree that the Venu 2 needs more weight to feel a bit more premium. It's extremely lightweight.

But the weight thing plays a part into why I ultimately returned the GW4 within my return window. It "feels" like a very nice watch. But it runs like a sad sad dog. Wear OS is inferior to what Samsung had going on with Tizen. The battery life on that watch is atrocious, and with an insane "slow charging" feature it will take you almost two hours to hit a full charge. Doing that daily? No thanks.

My Garmin doesn't offer all the features of the GW4 or say even a Fitbit Sense, but I prefer the ability to read my screen at all times whenever *I can also see and without having to turn my wrist in some odd way to invoke the screen turning on. I have one of the models (Vivoactive 4) with the reflective screen and honestly, I freaking love it. I can look at my watch like a watch and see the time. Hell yeah.

Does the reflective screen look less "cool" than the AMOLED - of course. But if you put a nice watch face on their and a strap that fits your needs and style, you might find that you love it. I get compliments on mine often. 🤷‍♂️

My Garmin lasts me a week, does a fantastic job tracking my walks, jogs, bike rides, indoor cardio/exercise, sleep times, and gives me a week of battery consistently. 👌💯

Recently I switched from an Apple watch to Android. Decided to try out thr Fitbit Sense and was intrigued. At the same time I ordered the Galaxy Watch 3. I was skeptical of the Sense and now I'm stuck on which one to keep. The Sense feels super comfy on my wrist and to some degree more comfy than the Galaxy Watch 3. One main attraction to thr Apple watch was its health features as well as the wrist band comfort.

Anyone came from the Galaxy Watch? Anyone have options either way?

The reviews from the Sense on YT aren't great which makes me leery on keeping the Sense. But I've had no issues with the Sense so far

Hi everyone,

My old fitbit of several years died a few months ago, and I am eager to replace it. Having gained weight during COVID, and having pretty bad ADHD, I feel like I should probably get a replacement sooner than later, as I feel like getting a new wearable device would help me stay on top of my activity level and keep better track of time-sensitive issues (through alarms, notifications, texts, etc).

I previously had a Charge2, which I know is pretty old now. Based on reviews I've read, I've gotten the impression that the Charge4 is the "best activity tracker currently out there," but I think at this point I want (and deserve) something a little better than just an activity tracker. In addition to the capabilities of a traditional activity tracker, I would ideally want something that can integrate with my calendar (I use Google), alarms, text and social media messages, and ideally email (Gmail and Outlook). In terms of health and wellness, step counting is obviously a no brainer, altimeter is preferred, but I also want other (fancier) things, like sleep analysis, heart rate, stress analysis, and (ideally) GPS tracking. As someone who doesn't usually sleep well, I love the concept of SmartWake on the Sense; I also, however, love the new BIA capability on the Galaxy Watch4.

Those 2 are the main models that I'm deciding between, although I'd be open to suggestions of other Fitbit or Sansung models. FWIW, I have a Samsung Galaxy phone, so integration would be easy with a Samsung smart watch; however, as mentioned, I've been using the Fitbit app for YEARS now, and I've gotten used to it (and I like it)... and I've heard some poor reviews abiut Samsung Health.

Any input on which model you folks think would be best (and why) would be great! Thanks!
