Frédéric Chopin wrote his Waltz in A flat major, Op. 69 no. 1, in 1835. It was apparently conceived as a farewell piece to Maria Wodzinska, to whom he had been enganged. It is thus known as the Farewell waltz, or Valse de l'adieu. Several versions of the manuscript exist. The Waltz no. 2 in B minor seems to have been written earlier, around 1829, but it was only published after Chopin's death. It should be noted that Chopin had asked that many of his unpublished works - including the Waltz in B minor - were burnt after he passed away. Did Chopin write the Minute Waltz? The Minute Waltz
Written in 1847 by Frederic Chopin, this waltz was first known as The Waltz of the Little Dog, because Chopin watched a little dog - named Marquis - chasing its tail while he was composing the music! The dog was a friend of Chopin's and Chopin actually wrote about him in several of his letters.
What level is Chopin Op 69 No 2?Op69 no 2 is probabaly about equal easiest with the A Minor waltz (Op 34 No2) . Op70 No 2 and Op 69 no 1 probably come next. I'd say these are all Grade 7 ish. Easiest Chopin are probably the Preludes in A Major and E Minor.
