I got this message on my Apple TV "Press and hold for more options?" How did this happen? It has gone away by itself but I want to know how to stop it in the future.

I’m going to go out on a limb and guess this was in the YouTube App?

If so, it’s a bug with YouTube. Go out of your video and to the video selection screen. Press and hold the button and it will bring up a sub menu. Just back out of that sub menu and you should be good to go.

I just did this (and found your post) trying to fix it and it worked for me.

Where did you see that? Was it a tvOS notification (upper-right corner), or an in-app message? For the latter, which app?

My Apple TV is doing this right now and I can’t get it to stop flashing on the screen.

It has a picture of what looks like a two button remote control that in no way resembles any button arrangement on my Apple remote.

while typing this it stopped flashing but remained flashing even after starting and stopping the Apple box.

Yes I was in the YouTube application when this happened. But I am pretty sure it persisted even when leaving the application and going to the main Apple TV screen.

It is stopped now or I could test that theory. It was flashing for about 5 minutes in the upper right of the screen.

It was in the upper right corner when I was in the YouTube app. When I pressed and held, I got another sub menu. Nothing on the sub menu made it go away. I have no idea how I got rid of it but it was extremely annoying as it flashed on and off all the time including when watching a video. Extremely un-intuitive when it comes to turning it off.

Yes it was in the app or even watching a video. Tried what you just suggested and it didn't do anything. Not sure why it went away.

I'm getting this too, started yesterday. The picture does not resemble the remote I have (latest AppleTV4K).

I tried pressing the back and menu button at the same time (top two buttons on my remote) and it opened up a pop up menu but did nothing to get rid of this flashing notification that does NOT go away.

does anyone know how to get rid of this? I can't watch any YouTube videos as this is super annoying!
