Mass in the Catholic Church goes by many names. As fundamentally an action of thanksgiving to God it is called Eucharist, which means thanksgiving. Other terms for it are Lord’s Supper, Breaking of Bread, Eucharistic assembly, memorial of the Lord’s Passion and Resurrection, holy sacrifice of the Mass, Holy and Divine Liturgy, Sacred Mysteries, Most Blessed Sacrament, Holy Communion, the holy things (ta hagia; sancta), and finally Holy Mass from the sending forth (missio) of the faithful.

I was appointed as pastor of Our Lady of the Scapular parish in November 2015 and I am delighted to be here. Before that, I was pastor of St. Ann's parish in Fenwick Ontario, a small but loving community about 30 minutes from here. I was born and raised in St. Catharines and ordained to the priesthood in 1999. Currently I am Chair of the Niagara Catholic District School Board and I'm working on my PhD in Religious Studies at McMaster University. As your pastor, my first priority is just to listen, to get to know you and understand the best way for me to serve you and to bring you closer to each other and to God through Christ.

Daily at 8am ET / 5am PT | Weekdays at Noon ET / 9am PT While you are unable to attend mass in person during the COVID-19 international health crisis, Daily TV Mass will continue to be a source of faith, connection and comfort at 8:00 AM (Mon – Sun.)

Catholic TV of San Antonio broadcasts on Spectrum Cable Channel 15. We provide quality Catholic programming from a local perspective. The Daily Mass & Rome Reports is streamed on Facebook Live every day.

Can I watch Mass on TV?

As a general rule, Catholics are obliged to attend Mass each Sunday. This is in fulfillment of the Second Commandment. Simply watching Mass on TV does not fulfill the obligation. A Catholic who can reasonably do so must attend Mass at a parish church or oratory.
