A seven-year-old Black girl from Dallas, Texas, is now the fastest kid in the country.

Dakota White and her teammates from Fort Worth’s Xpress Track Club set a new record in the girls’ eight and under 100-meter relay earlier this month at the AAU Junior Olympics.

The young athlete set a new national record with her time of 59.08 seconds. “I just run really hard,” she told Fox 4 News when asked how she does it.

Dakota first gained national attention last year when Tiktok videos of her competing in a track meet went viral. She began training at the age of three under the guidance of her father, former Texas Christian University wide receiver Cam White.

“She just had form, like crazy form. It wasn’t fast, but her form was already perfect. So then as she progressed, we started getting her different trainers,” her father told the local news station.

Dakota has won every competition she has entered since last year. “She’s just excelling in a sport that she loves now,” White said of his daughter.

A seven-year-old boy from the US, named Rudolph Ingram has been dubbed the ‘fastest kid in the world’ after a video of him completing 100m in 13:48 seconds.

The 100m star, who goes by the name ‘Blaze’ won the USA track and field records for his age group last weekend, and has since clocked up over 397,000 followers on Instagram.

In an interview with ABC news, Ingram’s father, Rudolph Ingram Senior, said he was four when he started running, after being inspired by the Olympics.

"I can give him all the tools to be great, but his drive and work ethic and competitive mentality, it sets the bar so much higher,” he said.

His father described Ingram as humble yet competitive.

"This is my baby, I’m overly proud of him. He makes me so proud,” said Rudolph Sr. "I don’t like saying it, but I feel like he’s a one in a million child. I don’t like saying it because he’s my child but I definitely feel like he does great things."

Although at the moment the seven year old runner says his goals are to play American football, we’ll be watching out for him on the track in the future.

Rudolph, who goes by the name Blaze, is already being called the next Usain Bolt. He says he “loves running real fast”. The six-pack-flaunting youngster has been competing in races since 2016. Rudolph has won several medals and admits that his favourite part about running is that “you get medals”.

His father Rudolph Ingram Sr manages the seven-year-old's Instagram page, which has racked up over 506,000 followers since the running sensation shot to the limelight.
