Who does deku have a crush on

Ask any fan of My Hero Academia and the odds are more than good that they have a favorite pairing for the series. The truth of the matter is, there are dozens of potential pairings. It's just that the fans want some over others.

Many of those potential pairings revolve around the main character, Izuku Midoriya, aka Deku. While some pairings are wanted by the fans, others are sadly much more likely. Here are five pairings in each category. Time to choose favorites.

10 Fans Want: Deku & Shoto Todoroki

Let's start with one of the most obvious pairings fans want: Deku and Shoto. These two have had a unique relationship right from the start, and of course, that got the minds (and hearts) of the fans intrigued.

Their complex relationship has only grown over time, with the two becoming close friends and allies. Is it really any surprise that there are so many fans of this particular ship? Still, it's hard to guess how likely the ship actually is.

9 More Likely: Deku & Ochako Uraraka

The relationship between Deku and Ochako is probably the closest one to becoming canon, at least with the way things have been going lately. Their characters have started to do that cute little dance fans recognize so well.

Deku is clearly flustered by Uraraka, more than most other girls (which is saying something). Likewise, Uraraka has already admitted (to the fans and herself) that she has strong feelings for Deku. It's pretty clear that this is one of the dominant relationships being pushed.

8 Fans Want: Deku & Katsuki Bakugo

Here's another obvious paring that fans so desperately want: Deku and Bakugo. The love/hate relationship between these two is strong, and fans just can't get enough of it. While not every fan is into this pairing, there's no doubt that those that adore it are very vocal about that fact.

To be fair, the two have started having a less... angry relationship in recent times. Not by a lot, but that would probably change the dynamic too much, so it's all for the best. The real question is, what are the odds of these two making it canon?

7 More Likely: Deku & Tsuyu Asui

It might be hard to picture Deku and Tsuyu Asui ending up together, but there's still plenty of reason for their paring. Both are incredibly dedicated to their cause, and Tsuyu has already proven time and time again how well she works with others, Deku included.

It would almost seem appropriate for a relationship like this one to sneak it's way to the top right at the end. It's happened before, and it'll surely happen again. But how would fans take such a pairing?

6 Fans Want: Deku & Himiko Toga

Some fans really do want to see Deku end up with one of the villains, Himiko Toga. Would that mean she'd become less villainous? Hard to tell, given how... insistent she is. Still, fans adore the idea of these two together.

Clearly, Toga has no problem with the potential pairing as well, as fans have had plenty of opportunities to see her obsess over Deku. Mostly when he was beaten and covered in blood... but he tends to get in that state a lot.

5 More Likely: Deku & Mei Hatsume

While there hasn't been a lot of hinting towards Deku and Mei becoming canon, there's been enough for fans to run with the idea and for it to be a real possibility. It's probably less likely than the leading canon relationship, Deku & Ochako, but it's still a possibility.

Mei would actually make an interesting partner for Deku. Even if she did drive him crazy, and occasionally put him at risk via her inventions (which she would certainly force him to try out, because it's Mei).

4 Fans Want: Deku & Tenya Iida

Deku and Iida are absolute best friends, of that there can be no doubt. Yet some fans would love to see them become more than friends. It's hard to say for certain how likely that actually is, but it's nice to know that if it did happen, they have a nice foundation for their relationship to build on.

Deku and Iida have been by each other's sides since that first episode/chapter, so it's really no surprise that fans have latched onto the idea of them becoming more. Plus, they are pretty cute together.

3 More Likely: Deku & Melissa Shield

Another potential candidate for Deku is Melissa Shield. Melissa was first introduced in the MHA movie, Two Heroes. Obviously, their relationship becoming canon would be entirely dependent on Melissa herself becoming canon.

Any fan that has enjoyed anime movies knows that the movies are frequently not considered canon to the writers. Still, if Melissa was to be officially brought into the series, the odds would be good that she'd win Deku's heart.

2 Fans Want: Deku & Shoto & Bakugo

The last relationship that fans would love to see Deku in? Is the grouping of Deku, Shoto, and Bakugo. Some fans sincerely do love the idea of all three of them being together. To be fair, their personalities are actually balanced out in interesting ways here.

Still, while this relationship is fairly popular, it's hard to believe that the series would make it canon. Beyond the friendship level, at any rate. Even that is a bit of a struggle at the moment, but hopefully they'll get there.

1 More Likely: Deku & Yuga Aoyama

Last up on the list of likely candidates for Deku: Yuga Aoyama. Say what? It may sound odd, but their relationship is one of the few that has been actively talked about in the series. Granted, mostly because Aoyama keeps freaking Deku out.

Still, there's no doubt that these two have been bouncing around and reacting to one another. So it is not outside the realm of possibility for them to somehow end up together. Even if their pairing is the lowest one on this list.
