Fallout 76 Concrete Farming

Where to find Concrete in Fallout 76

Fallout 76 has multiple uses for Concrete, but it always feels as though you constantly need to farm for more. Concrete is heavily used in the crafting of CAMP items, and you will most definitely need a lot of it in order to create the home you always dreamed of.

With that being said, there aren’t a whole lot of options when it comes to breaking down an item into concrete, as the ONLY things that contains concrete are:

  • Bags of Concrete
  • Garden Gnomes
  • Lead Pipes

Wow. Who knew bags of concrete could be broken down into concrete. Well, now that you know WHAT you need, you need locations where they spawn. I spent some time running around the map trying to find consistent spawns, and like most items, concrete spawns in big bundles (for the most part), but you will have to jump worlds in order to farm the locations again. Those Concrete farming locations in Fallout 76 are:

  • Abandoned Bog Town
    • Go to the scaffolding around the front of the main business building, and go to the SECOND floor. There, in that room, you will find anywhere from 5-15 bags of concrete, depending on how lucky you are.
  • New River Gorge Bridge – East
    • At the CENTER of the bridge, coming from the East side, there is a crashed Toxic barrel truck with a ton of concrete bags around it.
  • Lewis & Sons Farming Supply
    • Typically you’ll find a couple bags around the area
  • Monorail Elevator
    • At the TOP of the main tower, right at the nose of the actual train, you’ll find a bunch of bags of concrete laying on the platform
  • Kanawha County Cemetery
    • Bags of Concrete are found in the shed beside the church building.

How to Get Concrete in Fallout 76

Crafting is a massive part of Fallout 76, especially if you’re going to survive the many dangers that plague the wasteland. If you have the right resources, you’ll be able to create powerful weapons and armor. However, if you’re looking for concrete, chances are you’re looking to carve out your very own home from home in the wasteland. Here’s how to get concrete in Fallout 76.

As you may have guessed, there are actually a number of ways to get concrete in Fallout 76. However, the simplest way is to get it as part of a junk item, namely Bags of Cement. Breaking down a single bag of cement will churn out seven concrete, which will do nicely for renovating your CAMP.

The best-known location to get these bags of cement so far is New River Gorge Bridge, which can be located just south of Flatwoods itself. We’ve taken a snap of it on our map below so you know exactly where you need to head.

Upon heading here, you’ll want to start exploring this area from the north and head south. What you’re going to want to do is start making your way across the bridge. Head up the slope and past the truck you see with a ton of yellow barrels surrounding it. Hop over the wall in the center of the road here and you should come across a metal box. It’s not the metal box you’re searching inside, though. Simply look next to it and you’ll find three bags of cement on the ground, perfect for that concrete you need.

Alternatively, there’s another means of getting concrete fairly easily in Fallout 76 if you’re willing to spend some time at workshops. Concrete can be farmed at the Gorge Junkyard workshop, as well as other workshops that state they have some sort of supply of the stuff there.

You can check this by opening up your map in Fallout 76 and selecting a workshop with your cursor. If it brings up concrete as a material that’s available there, you’ll want to make that your next stop.

Next, you’ll need to build a Concrete Extractor to begin mining the stuff. To do so, you’ll need to open up the build menu in Fallout 76 after claiming the workshop by pressing the touchpad or the View button on Xbox One, and then tab over to Resources. From here, select the Concrete Extractor and place it just where we have in the image below.

You’ll now need to give it a while, but this will actually generate 33 concrete per hour as long as you have it up and running and connected to a large generator (or provide it with 10 power in some way). You can go off and do whatever you want, and as long as the workshop stays under your control, the Concrete Extractor will keep churning the stuff out.

In order to collect it, simply walk over to the extractor after some time has passed and you should be able to automatically transfer it into your inventory.

Finally, the only other way we’ve come across to get concrete in Fallout 76 is to simply purchase it, be it off vendors if they happen to ever have any in-stock, or from other players you find adventuring across the wasteland. Although, if you get one of these workshops locked down and generating all that concrete for you, you won’t really need to waste your caps buying it.
