Where do you find mangrove forests in Minecraft?

A mangrove in air, held by a single grass block.

Mangrove propagules can be planted and grown on all of these blocks, even if submerged underwater:

  • Dirt
  • Grass Block
  • Coarse Dirt
  • Podzol
  • Mycelium
  • Rooted Dirt
  • Moss Block
  • Farmland
  • Mud
  • Clay

When mangrove trees grow, they convert any mud in the way of the mangrove roots to muddy mangrove roots. They need at least a 5×5 of clear space to grow in. Their maximum size blueprint occupies a 13×13×18 volume.

How do you get mangroves in Minecraft?

To grow a mangrove tree, you need to get a propagule, which you can find hanging from mangrove tree leaves. Propagules are essentially the mangrove's version of a sapling, but they physically grow on the tree rather than dropping when you destroy the leaves. You can plant a propagule either in the ground or underwater.

Where can I find mangroves?

The hardest but honest way to find this new environment is to visit regions with desert, normal swamp, or savanna biomes. Mangrove swamps thrive in damp, warm environments. However, there is no assurance fans will be able to discover them within a few hundred or thousands of blocks of their spawn place.
