4th of July events in Orange County are back! There’s tons of fun things to see, eat and do this July 4th and we’re happy to be rounding up as many events as we could find for you.

This Orange County 4th of July events list is organized by city and noted where the entrance are FREE. Use it as a jumping off point to celebrate July 4th in Orange County and choose a few Fourth of July events to attend.

Buying fireworks in Orange County

Safe and Sane Fireworks are allowed in certain Orange County cities with restrictions. And I’m sure you’ll see these stands popping up everywhere.

Some fireworks sales begin before July 1st and all end July 4th. You can find a fireworks location near you in Orange County here. These fireworks do not fly into the air or explode.

The fireworks must be approved by the CA State Fire Marshal and each city has designated times in which fireworks can be discharged. Here is a list of the communities in Orange County that permit the sale and use of state-approved fireworks each 4th of July :

• Anaheim: 10:00 am – 10:00 pm (No fireworks in East Anaheim)
• Buena Park: 10:00 am – 10:00 pm
• Costa Mesa: 4:00 pm – 10:00 pm on July 2 – July 4

ALISO VIEJO

Aliso Viejo Ranch | July 4, 2022

Grand Avenue will be closed from City Lights Drive to Vantis on the day of the event from 5:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m. for ALL traffic – this includes bikes, cars and pedestrians.

Live performance from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Community Booths – Children’s Crafts – Face Painting – Balloon Twisters – Airbrush Tattoo Artists – Carnival Games

Low-level fireworks show will start at approximately 9:00 p.m.

ANAHEIM HILLS

Anaheim Hills 4th of July Celebration returns this year. The day will kick off with a firecracker 5k/10k run and Yankee doodle dog show. The afternoon will be filled with a patriotic parade, food vendors and live entertainment. The day will wrap up with a spectacular fireworks show.

BREA

Come celebrate our Nation’s independence at Brea’s Annual Country Fair full of patriotic festivities. BUENA PARK

Prior to the fireworks display the Condor Squadron, consisting of WWII North American AT-6 airplanes, will be making a flyover Dana Point from 5:55pm to 6:00pm, so look to the skies for this annual tradition.

HUNTINGTON BEACH
4th of July fun runs in Huntington Beach
$50 Surf City 5K Run | July 4, 2022

Early Riser? Participate in the return of the Surf City Run 5K race at the City of Huntington Beach’s 4th of July Celebration.

The 5K Run accepts registrations exclusively online, now through July 2, 2022 at 9 p.m. All online registrations will be confirmed online with a QR code sent via email. After the online cutoff, runners still have an opportunity to register onsite at the race course on July 4th. The run will take place along a pre-designed course through Huntington Central Park, starting and finishing at the Huntington Beach Central Library.

Watch the biggest Fourth of July Parade west of the Mississippi River on the 4th of July at 10 AM. Local businesses, classic cars, the Huntington Beach High School Cheerleaders, the Huntington Beach Mayor, and more put on a show for residents and visitors alike on the Fourth of July. The 2.5-mile route starts on Pacific Coast Highway and makes its way past the Huntington Beach Pier and onto Main Street.

The event will include the fireworks show, flyover, live music by Pop Vinyl, kid’s activity booths, food vendors and general vendors. Guest seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Limited attendance capacity, so purchasing your wristbands pre-sale is highly recommended. Please note that no alcohol or glass containers are allowed in the park.

The City fireworks show will originate from Monument Point at Heisler Park. For this reason, the Monument Point area will be closed all day on the 4th of July. Beginning at approximately 5pm, the area of Heisler Park from the Rock Bench at Myrtle Street to the Rockpile Beach stairs at Jasmine Street will be closed to the public to allow for fireworks preparation.

LAGUNA HILLS

The Fourth of July Firework Show will feature a 20+ minute firework show, live performances, food vendors and other festivities. The event will begin at 6:30 pm with fireworks beginning at 9 pm. Residents are encouraged to arrive at the Sports Park at 6 pm. Overflow parking will be available at Saddleback Church.

LA HABRA

La Bonita Park | July 4, 2022

The City will hold its annual 4th of July Celebration on Monday, July 4th  at La Bonita Park, 1440 W. Whittier Blvd. This year’s theme is “Celebrating Our Freedom”. The event will include a fireworks display, live music by Suave, a military flyover, kids’ activities, food vendors, and retail vendors. Wristbands are on sale at the La Habra Community Center, 101 W. La Habra Blvd., Mon.-Fri., 8 am-5 pm. Pre-sale wristband price is $5 for adults (ages 13+ years) and $3 per child (ages 3-13 years). Wrist band price on the day of the event will be $7 for adults (ages 13+ years) and $5 per child (ages 3-13 years). Children 2 years and under are always free. LOS ALAMITOS

Fireworks show is at 9 p.m. Gates open at 4 p.m. and close at 8:45. Bring lawn chairs and blankets, there will be no other seating available.  The free event is hosted by Los Alamitos and Seal Beach will feature music, a family fun area and food vendors.

MISISON VIEJO

A flyover by the Condor Squadron, consisting of four AT-6 aircraft World War II trainers will take place along the participating coastal cities from 5:55 to 6:00 p.m.

The 10th Annual Fourth of July Celebration will be taking place on Monday, July 4, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Centennial Regional Park. This free community event will include live music, kid’s activities, food trucks, and exhibitors and a spectacular 20 minute fireworks finale at 9:00 p.m.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early and bring a lawn chair, blanket and picnics. Dogs may attend but must remain on leashes. Alcohol is not allowed. Centennial Park is located at 3000 West Edinger Avenue in Santa Ana. On-site event parking is free.

Stars on Parade kicks off at 9 a.m. at Villa Park High School. Kids of all ages decorate their bikes, scooters, wagons and such to participate in the parade, which will travel a mile and a half through residential streets. Line up at 8:30 a.m. at the school.

YORBA LINDA
