What time Is Stranger Things season 4 Volume 2 coming out?

Get the snacks ready and cue up Kate Bush — it’s time to head back to Hawkins for a very “Stranger Things” Fourth of July weekend.

Vol. 2 of the hit show’s fourth season debuts Friday on Netflix (late Thursday if you’re really committed).

Will Eleven get her powers back and vanquish Vecna?

Will Hopper reunite with Eleven?

Will Eddie be exonerated?

Is Steve going to pay the ultimate price for his bravery?

After the Battle of Starcourt, the gang — at the start, Eleven in California with Joyce, Will and Jonathan; the rest of the crew in Hawkins — face the fearsome monster-villain Vecna in volumes 1 and 2 of the fourth season, set in 1986.

Vol. 1 of “Stranger Things” season four premiered May 27 to much fanfare and a laser light show on the Empire State Building, but also a warning for a particularly bloody and violent scene in the wake of the Uvalde school shooting.

In the series, the otherworldly demon Vecna is preying on the youth of Hawkins — Max included — along with their stresses and insecurities.

But behind the grisly deaths caused by this new menace is (slight, slight spoiler) the key to the entire Upside Down.

If you don’t mind spoilers and you just want to remember what you already watched, Netflix put out a video (see below) where the “Stranger Things” cast gives a recap of everything that happened in Vol. 1.

In the meantime, in our reality, “Stranger Things” season four Vol. 1 lifted Kate Bush’s 1985 song “Running Up That Hill” to No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 — her first top-10 hit in the United States — and No. 1 in the United Kingdom.

The classic tune gets prime placement in the show as a form of musical armor that Max uses to defend herself from Vecna’s intrusive presence. She plays the song — her favorite — repeatedly via cassette tape, listening with headphones. Its use as Max’s theme music in “Stranger Things” — and as a soundtrack to a pivotal scene where she is literally running from Vecna — minted many new, young Kate Bush fans 37 years after the song’s debut.

“It’s such a great series, I thought that the track would get some attention,” Bush told the BBC. “I just never imagined that it would be anything like this. It’s so exciting — it’s quite shocking, really, isn’t it? I mean, the whole world’s gone mad ... What’s really wonderful, I think, is that this is a whole new audience who, in a lot of cases, they never heard of me and I love that — the thought of all these really young people hearing the song for the first time and discovering it is ... well, I think it’s very special.”

The main cast returns in Vol. 2 of season four, including Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Finn Wolfhard as Mike, Little Egg Harbor’s Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas, Noah Schnapp as Will, Sadie Sink as Max, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan, Natalia Dyer as Nancy, Joe Keery as Steve, Maya Hawke as Robin and Priah Ferguson as Erica.

Winona Ryder is also back as Joyce Byers; David Harbour as Jim Hopper; Brett Gelman as Murray; Paul Reiser as Dr. Sam Owens; and Matthew Modine as Dr. Martin Brenner.

Those new to the cast this season have included Robert Englund — known for playing Freddy Krueger— as Victor Creel; Joseph Quinn (“Game of Thrones”) as Hellfire Club leader Eddie; and Eduardo Franco (“Booksmart”) as Argyle.

Grace Van Dien (from “Greenhouse Academy” and daughter of Ridgewood-raised actor Casper Van Dien) appeared early in the season as Chrissy; Amybeth McNulty (“Anne with an E”) is Vickie; Jamie Campbell Bower (“Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald”) plays Peter; Myles Truitt (“BMF”) is Patrick; Nikola Djuricko (“World War Z”) is Yuri; and Tom Wlaschiha plays Dmitri.

Well, because it’s long.

To recap, “Stranger Things” creators Matt and Ross Duffer — the Duffer brothers — explained why the show is being released in two parts in a letter to fans.

They addressed viewers in a letter after production was suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

“With nine scripts, over eight-hundred pages, almost two years of filming, thousands of visual effects shots, and a runtime nearly twice the length of any previous season, Stranger Things 4 was the most challenging season yet, but also the most rewarding one,” the Duffers wrote. “Everyone involved is incredibly proud of the results, and we can’t wait to share it with you.”

“Given the unprecedented length, and to get it to you as soon as possible, Season 4 will be released in two volumes,” they said.

Vol. 2, or the second half of the fourth season of “Stranger Things,” will be released at 3 a.m. ET/12 a.m. PT Friday, July 1 on Netflix.

There are nine episodes in the entire fourth season of “Stranger Things.”

Seven were released May 27. Two more remain, but at least one (the last one) is very, very long.

The first episode of Vol. 2 — Chapter Eight of the fourth season — is titled “Papa.” (That’s what Eleven called Dr. Brenner.)

Chapter Nine is called “The Piggyback.” The fourth season finale exceeds 120 minutes — it’s two hours and 19 minutes long.

No. This is not the series finale. There will be more “Stranger Things” in the form of a fifth season.

But the end is near. The Duffers have said that will be the final season of “Stranger Things.” No release date yet.
