To me it's just a variation of silver. I don't see why Honda needs two. C'mon, even Toyota is getting bold with paint. And have you seen the colors Chevy puts on Spark? Or Fiat on 500?

I don't disagree, I wish there was a more varied color palette (i always love purples when Honda does them, energy green and tonic yellow were cool too but not sure those would suit the mature styling of the 11th gen). But when 75% of buyers choose white/black/gray regardless of options there's little incentive to offer many colors sadly. I also think that, while it looks silver in pictures, its much more blue in person, and because of the pearl effect actually shifts to a green hue in certain light as well, definitely more interesting than just silver.

The hatchback may end up getting a special color of it's own keep in mind, and Si/Type R variants will also see a special exclusive color for each of them, most likely it'll be the orange color seen on the prototype for the Si models. I could see them swapping the morning mist color for the hatches to something different as well, as it seems more suited to the sedan than a hatch.

What's your favorite color for the Type R? And what color would you want to see on a Type R?

I like the boost blue they added late on the 10th gen Type R. I'd like to see that color stick around, but I'm not exactly in the market for a Type R either, so doesn't really matter.

When you offer non-black interior only on white and grey damn right you will be selling even more of them than you normally would.

The funny thing is.... back in the era of the 8th and 9th generation civics... people BEGGED honda to offer black interior on lower trims, at the time, only being available on the Si models. All the interiors were grey or beige. Honda finally gave us black interiors with the 10th gen (along with grey and beige, even some contrasting combos as my 16 coupe had gray with black accents) and then they slowly chipped away at the various color combinations until 90% of the lineup had only black, and the beige was offered on only 2-3 colors. I can't really speculate if this was done as a response to overall customer demand for black interior, production cost cutting, or just Honda being typical Honda.

May be they just figured that after a year black turns into a dirty-gray? BTW, both of my old Civics were gray/cloth and aged really well.

To me this whole thing make little sense - if you are ordering a car from a dealer, why can't it be made to spec? Or do they make them in batches and on the day they paint the cars blue only black interior elements are being delivered?

Spec anything means much much higher costs, time, complication, that's why you see it most commonly on luxury automakers only. This is mass production, not custom tailoring. That's why Honda has been on a mission to scale back on trim variations (this will also include things like interior/exterior color combos). It keeps production costs down the less variants they have to create and distribute.

Your second point is more or less correct, yes, the cars are built/painted in batches most likely on a schedule dictated by volume demand (so most popular trims, colors, etc) get more batches than less popular combos and trims. That's why you can go to a dealer and find 200 LX or Sports in any color you want... but finding an EX in a specific color often means hunting various dealers. I had to go to 3 dealers to find my Aegean blue EX coupe.

The most we the shoppers can do is ask dealers to try and order a specific trim/color combo, but I know from experience, that isn't even a guarantee, especially for lower volume dealerships. Honda will send what they think will sell fast. That often means lots of white/black/grey with very few red/blue/specialty colors that will sit on lots longer.

May they need to get some lessons from VAZ then: "Ve give you one trim, color ve choose, and you thank us and Party for zat".

Those Touring wheels really go with MMB but I wonder how it will look with a sportier set...

Civic 2022 (gen 11) looks very mature. For me, gen 10 was cartoonish with all those curves and fakes.
But... everybody has its own taste and I respect that.

Best colour ever . Silverish colour is sooooo easy to maintain. Dust and dirt are not so visible and (eventual) swirl marks are not that prominent comparing to darker colours.
I am wondering how front license plate will be mounted? Will dealer drill holes into that tiny piece of bumper below H or they will come up with something less destructing?
