The integrated pathway of courses (Math 1, 2, and 3) covers the same topics as the traditional pathway (Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2). Math 1, Math 2, and Math 3 each contain elements of algebra, geometry, and statistics, so the content is more interwoven. Show Integrated Math III completes the three courses sequence of Integrated Mathematics course. This year-long course addresses the Common Core Standards for Integrated Math III as described in the state framework. It brings together knowledge acquired in the previous two courses and uses it as a springboard to expand into more complex territory. Students will prepare for future advanced mathematics courses by expanding their knowledge of functions, right triangle trigonometry, and experiences with data as they solve sophisticated problems using critical thinking skills and mathematical modeling. Prerequisites: Integrated Math 1 and Integrated Math 2. RECOMMENDED PRE-REQUISITE: Integrated Math 2
SEMESTER 1Unit 1: Drawing Conclusions from Data
Unit 2: Linear Equations, Inequalities and Functions
Unit 3: Polynomials and Polynomial Functions
Unit 4: Rational Expressions and Functions
SEMESTER 2Unit 5: Roots and Radicals Functions
Unit 6: Exponential and Logarithmic Functions
Unit 7: Trigonometric Functions
Unit 8: Applying Geometric Concepts
What is Mathematics 3 integrated?Course Description
This course blends algebra, geometry, number and quantity, functions, modeling and statistics and probability into one course. Students begin the course learning about the algebraic concepts of functions, equations, logarithms, and graphs and then transitions into triangle and trig ratios.
What topics are covered in math 3?The standards in the integrated Mathematics III course come from the following conceptual categories: Modeling, Functions, Number and Quantity, Algebra, Geometry, and Statistics and Probability.
What kind of math is math 3?Math 3 students study piecewise, polynomial, rational, and sinusoidal functions. Geometric units focus on circles and their properties and modeling with 2D and 3D geometric figures. Probability rules learned in previous courses are extended to the statistics of making inferences and justifying conclusions.
Is integrated math 3 the same as precalculus?DESCRIPTION: Integrated Math 3+ is a yearlong course that is the final of the three Integrated Mathematics Courses and satisfies the Common Core State Standards for Integrated Mathematics 3 and Precalculus.
