Biography

One Night at Flumpty's

At 4 AM, Grunkfuss would suddenly appear in the hole in the office. Whenever the player pulls up the monitor, Grunkfuss will become more and more visible, continuing like that for nineteen phases. If his legs are fully visible and his mouth is wide open, he will attack the next time the player will put up the monitor. In Hard-Boiled Mode, Grunkfuss will show up at 2 AM. At 3AM on Hard boiled mode, he stops moving until 4AM, which is when he starts to move again.

One Night at Flumpty's 2

Grunkfuss will start on CAM 2, crouching and staring at the floor. At 2 AM, a hole will appear in the office and Grunkfuss will start staring at the camera. There is now a countdown on the top of the camera starting at two thousand, telling the player when will Grunkfuss' patience run out. When his patience runs out, the player has to turn off the lights in the office or Grunkfuss will kill the player. Grunkfuss raises the exposure meter more than everyone else, excluding the Eyesaur. In Hard-Boiled Mode, the countdown starts at eight-hundred.

One Night at Flumpty's 3

Grunkfuss activates on 1 AM. Like Birthday Boy Blam, he goes to the player's hallway. The difference is that the player can't shine their light at him, or otherwise Grunkfuss will kill them. Once the Normal Night ends, Flumpty kills everyone, including Grunkfuss.

Other Media

One Night at Flumpty's 2 (Troll Game)

In the troll game, Grunkfuss would pop out from the wall after Flumpty and Birthday Boy Blam were killed, saying "boo". The player now has to shoot Grunkfuss to win the game.

One Week at Flumpty's

Grunkfuss would be one of the two threats on Night 3, alongside the Redman.

Trivia

  • Grunkfuss was originally called The Clown.
  • Grunkfuss was originally supposed to have a Music Box in the second game, much like the Puppet. This was scrapped as series creator Jonochrome thought it was an overused idea.
  • Grunkfuss's behavior might be a reference to a fellow Five Nights at Freddy's fan-game Five Nights at Wario's, where Mario has the same behaviour.
  • Like with most villains, it's unknown if Grunkfuss enjoys hunting the player or is forced to do it by Flumpty Bumpty.

So now that the 3rd game has finally come out, many people are going to try and beat it. So, at this point I've spent multiple hours grinding hard-boiled mode, beaten it, and have some tips to give. I'm going to write this with only my own notes and knowledge I've gotten. So any video that might already exist on how to beat it, I haven't even seen.

Each night is 9 minutes, so if you want to follow this guide, I recommend setting a 9 minute timer right as the "GOOD LUCK" at the bottom right disappears so that you can follow this easily.

I'm going to go over all the character things that aren't very important to win the normal night but are useful here.

Birthday Boy Blam:

He's the simplest of all of them. The main thing you need to know is that you have around 10 seconds between each “pose change” but that doesn't make much of a difference in preventing him.

Grunkfuss The Clown:

Definitely one of the biggest terrors in hard boiled mode until you learn this. Grunkfuss starts in room 6 and moves to room 5 taking 7 “pose changes” before going to your office (which you might count as an 8th). Each bit of movement takes around 7 seconds once everything really kicks off. Make sure to internalize how far away he is when you look at the camera's because it's very helpful when dealing with another character. Also when he’s in the hall it takes 3 seconds for him to go away.

Red Man:

Definitely the thing that you have to play the entire game around. Red Man is in room 4 and makes his way to a portal leading to the furnace. He moves in a semi-predictable pattern making him simple to avoid. Whenever he’s in front of the portal is your cue to avoid him at all costs. Whenever he gets there it’s the (what I like to call) “danger time” which I have found the best times regardless of RNG making it uncertain. Note there aren’t end times because the randomness makes it basically impossible to trust without double checking the camera. 8:15 | 7:10 | 6:05 | 5:00

The Beavowl:

A near constant threat you need to keep an eye on. The Beavowl starts in cam 3 and takes the vent on cam 7 to the right side of your room. The main thing to pay attention to is when everything really starts your basically always going to see him at one stage in coming to you unless he’s in your room. Also note that when he moves close to cam seven you have about ten seconds before he enters the vent in your room and is available to flash.

Golden Flumpty:

Not a huge threat normally but can absolutely kill a run in hard-boiled mode. Unlike normal night, here he starts right as the night begins. The only prevention is to make sure you aren’t able to see him when you put down the camera. Failure to do so means basically all your heat is gone which can straight up kill you when Red Man is present.

Eyesaur:

Obnoxious... Eyesaur is there to make sure you aren’t spending all your time in the camera and can screw you over in the blink of an eye. Especially when you can’t go to the furnace and The Beavowl isn’t around, so you have no reason not to stay in the cameras. He seems to appear only after 1am and to get rid of him you need to flash your camera twice. But you need to be careful because the camera takes about 4 seconds to recharge and if Grunkfuss is about to enter the hall you’re dead. You can wait a little bit but you only have 10 seconds from when Eyesaur appears until you die.

Flumpty’s turn starts at 4:30 and has its own set of challenges and the chaos of which means that I have less info to give (these are my own names I’m giving them but should be self explanatory.)

Normal Flumpty:

Blam copy moving on.

Blue Flumpty:

Copy of Red Man with his own “danger times” which I haven’t been able to test very well due to the Flumpty section being quite difficult. 3:10 | 2:05 | 1:00

Spider Flumpty:

Copy of The Beavowl with half as many “pose changes” until at the vent in your office.

“Baby” Flumpty (My little sister thought of it because of the big letters):

Starts in either 8a or 8b and stays in the room if it switches sides. Moves about 4 times to your room on either the left door or the right door depending on where the room was when he moved the last time. The only prevention is to turn on the corresponding laser door and you can flash your camera if you aren’t sure where or if he’s there.

Red Popup Flumpty:

A little alert sound plays and a caution triangle flashes if the camera is down. Just press the cancel button and it will never bother you. (I don’t even know what happens if you don’t because how easy it is)

Eye Flumpty:

Appears around 4:10-4:15 with some randomness making it not very static. Has a patience meter in cam 6 so you can see how soon until he appears in your room. You have about 10 seconds total before he fills the exposure meter and kills you so don’t worry about keeping much of an eye on him. You can prevent the meter from going up if he’s there by moving to the left or right side if the camera needs to charge.

Red Flumpty:

Active once the two rooms at the top come down about 20 seconds after Eye Flumpty is active. Moves about 5 times in cam 9 until getting to the entry of room 10. Once there you need to turn on the lasers to reset him and prevent him from getting further. If not he will turn off the door power, leaving you to the mercy of “Baby” Flumpty.

Shadow Flumpty:

Similar to Golden Flumpty in the way it will move around and thanks to DarkTaurus on youtube I learned that you can close the monitor 5 times on him and a 6th will kill you. But generally you won't end up closing it on him many times so it's not a huge deal.

Some more notes:

From a full temperature charge you have 52 seconds until you freeze and it charges about 2-3 times that at the furnace. If you do freeze you seem to have about 10 seconds at max until the nearest enemy kills you so if you’re really close you might be able to make it but I wouldn’t count on it.

During Flumpy’s turn the hud goes all wacky at some points and can be confusing. Don’t worry about it as it doesn’t make much of a difference on the gameplay. However, the temperature does seem to show you more if you’re close to freezing, sticking around a middle point if in the ball section.

Most of these notes are helpful in normal gameplay but all time related things (except for freezing) only seem to apply on hard-boiled mode.

Starting the night. This is only a tip for the beginning that I’ve found makes the wait easier till you get to actually play, and you don’t have to follow it if you don’t want to.

As you start the night go straight to the furnace you can wait there for a good while, until 8:15 on the timer to be exact as that's when you need to start doing things, even if the Red Man isn't dangerous yet. Check camera 7 to see the Beavowl and wait until he goes away. After, you can easily flash him. Around that time Grunkfuss will be going into your hallway with Blam right behind so make sure you don’t flash. By the time Blam is going to come into the hall Red Man will be gone so you can heat up while waiting for Blam. After that use the Red Man times I’ve given with the timer and the tips for each character to get to the halfway mark.

Starting Flumpty’s turn everything resets and I haven’t been able to test very well so please, if you find anything, let me know and I can update it.

If Red Man is in the furnace as it changes, everything gets reset so you're free to heat up all the way without checking the camera. Since it’s harder to get here than start over, I don’t know how long you can stay at the furnace. So I recommend setting the camera to cam 5 and periodically checking it before returning to the furnace. Once cams 8a and 8b are active you need to be actively watching everyone because by that point Blue Flumpty, Spider Flumpty, and Normal Flumpty will be getting closer. Just play your game and be smart.

Remember that even though you don’t have infinite camera flashes, you don’t have to worry about dying for using it. So if you don’t know, use it to double check which door “Baby” Flumpty is at.

At roughly 2:40 left Red Flumpty will be close to, if not in, the cam 10 entry. Once you prevent him for the first time, the chaos of all the enemies starting will have subsided so you can prevent him pretty easily later.

The biggest thing you need to be paying attention to is what stage Spider Flumpty is at. Because it takes him so little time to come toward your room, keep a mental note where he is and it will make it much easier. You can also just check cam 7 regularly because he seems to wait a good amount of time in your room so you can see him.

If you remember the things I’ve said you should be able to win fairly easily. Of course there are RNG elements which makes it so not much can be done if you’re in an unavoidable situation. And if you’re just having trouble getting past the first part, just use the Red Man times above and it makes it so much easier so there’s one less element you need to watch. I honestly think Flumpty’s turn is easier than the rest once you get past the beginning chaos. So once you get there, you’re good.

If you have anything you’ve found, specifically once Flumpty’s turn starts, about the “danger times” for Blue Flumpty, or anything about the Flumpty mechanics, please comment them so that others who try to beat this have more info and I can update as we go.

Also, I don’t mind letting people know the strats I’ve found, but I would like credit. I spent way too much time looking for these things. (And it would be cool if I saw my name in like a video or something)

Good luck out there! 🥚

What is the red thing in one night at Flumpty's?

The Redman is an antagonist in One Night at Flumpty's. He was a victim manipulated by Flumpty Bumpty who drank lava and lived (kinda). His background before turning into a skeleton is unknown. He often behaves like a hacker, which is clearly seen when he turns off the cameras and acts as a computer virus.

What happens in Flumpty night?

The Flumpty Night is a second night in One Night at Flumpty's 3. In this night, all characters are killed by Flumpty Bumpty, who is now transcending time and space via multiple iterations of himself to kill you in various ways at once.

What is Eyesaur?

The Eyesaur is an environmental mechanic in One Night at Flumpty's. As the name suggests, it is a pit in CAM 5 that contains, initially, 30 eyes. It was confirmed by Jonochrome that Eyesaur was never officially made a character until their second game, One Night at Flumpty's 2.

Is Flumpty Bumpty a God?

Flumpty himself appeared before the beginning of time, being the chaos god of death. He has more than one victim, and as we know, he staged one apocalypse.
