Toilet paper holder on vanity or wall

Hi i have the same dilema as the OP, except instead of a cabinet to mount to, its a freestanding pane of glass for a walk in shower (will have stabiliser bar)

Its the kids bathroom they are still under 10

Option A

Mount it on the wall between glass shower pane and toilet, but I am worried about just how awkward it will be. I assume adults have to really reach back and kids might have to literally swivel their butts 90degrees before theyre shorter arms can reach. I also take note of the comments re older people having difficulty

Can people who have had wall mounted toilet roll holders comment some more?

Option B

Have the glass drilled with holes to accept the holder on the glass pane (glass not ordered or installed yet) - it would then be conveniently off the to right hand side.

Option C

some form of standup toilet roll holder

concerns: will it fall over , how well weighted are they, another thing in the way of mopping

Hi everyone - our current toilet roll holder is screwed to the side of our bathroom vanity. We're getting a new custom vanity and hubby would prefer not to drill holes in it.

I've tried the free standing holders but none of them are heavy enough. They're very wobbly and in the middle of the night, it can be challenging to find it. I don't use a night light either.

Putting the holder on the back wall doesn't make sense either. It would be quite impossible to twist my body that much!

Also, in front of the toilet is the door to the bathroom.

I might have to just screw it to the vanity!

Any ideas?

Thanks!

P.S. The taupes are going ... gutting the entire washroom, but same layout :)

Your bathroom remodel includes many details, and where to mount the toilet paper holder is one of them. Do you put it just anywhere? The National Kitchen and Bath Association studies bathroom ergonomics and flow and provides standard measurements that work best not only for the placement of your toilet, sink and bath, but for your toilet paper holder as well.

Height Placement

According to the NKBA, a wall-mounted toilet paper holder works best if installed 26 inches above the floor, on center. "On center" means that the center of the holder, as opposed to the bottom or top of it, is 26 inches above the floor. This installation height works well with standard as well as comfort height, or handicapped, toilets.

Distance From Toilet

The other important measurement is that it should be placed eight to 12 inches, on center, from the toilet to the facing wall. Measure from the very front of the toilet bowl. To optimize this measurement, consider the average height of household members and place it eight to 10 inches from the front of the bowl for shorter users and households with kids; place it 10 to 12 inches in front of the bowl for households consisting of taller members.

Final Option

If you are unable to permanently wall mount or cabinet mount a dispenser within these optimal measurements, consider a free-standing dispenser.

What is the best location for a toilet paper holder?

Install your toilet paper holder on a wall 8 inches to 12 inches from your toilet bowl. (Use 8 inches to 9 inches for shorter users such as children and 10 inches to 12 inches for average to tall users). The best height for a toilet paper holder is 26 inches from the floor.

Where do you put a toilet paper holder in a small bathroom?

It's usually easiest and most times best to mount the toilet paper holder on the wall across from the toilet in a small bathroom. This gives you room to reach for it without being cramped up and hitting your elbow on something when you are tearing the toilet paper off.

How do you store toilet paper in the bathroom?

Mounting a simple shelf above your door will provide you with a spot for spare rolls. Make sure you have a step stool handy, so you can easily access them when you run out. You can also use a shelf like this above the toilet or anywhere near it if you want to make replenishing even easier.
