    An american classic

This is a wonderful depiction of the early 19th century south and some of the folk stories from that era. This movie should not be depicted as racist. It is sad that i had to order this from Australia. It seems that "song of the south" has been written out of history due to a historically accurate depiction of plantation life. That is truly unfortunate. The music as well as the moral delemas portrayed are poinient and relevant. I would recomend this movie for myriad reasons.

Better than nothing, but not by much.

DVD case damaged in shipment when supporting post broke off inside resulting in some minor scuffing on the DVD but nothing fatal. DVD does appear to be region free and played without issue on my USA player. This product is a mediocre version at best. Video quality of live action segments varies throughout the DVD and is no better than VCR resolution. Aspect ratio seems cropped below 4:3. Somewhat better quality during animated segments. Sound OK and voices intelligible. An annoying/distracting feature is some sort of logo that comes and goes unpredictably for minutes at a time in the upper left corner of the program. No menu or scene selection options. Film appeared unedited and as intended.

  • Wonderful movie!

Wonderful movie! I saw it as a child in the theater and have been looking for it on DVD for a while to surprise my mother. Only problems were it was pretty dark in places, and some kind of logo kept fading in and out, which was distracting as well as annoying. But still love the movie, and so thrilled to have found it! Mom is thrilled to pieces!! Thank you!

    Excellent music with engaging characters.

Though the depiction of life under slavery is most certainly atypical, it is a Disney movie, so allowances should be made. If you can't appreciate the Uncle Remus character, then, you are lacking.

"A great history of the Allman Brothers Band"

This is a must have for any ABB fan. It chronicles the band from the beginning, the different members during the early years, Duane's studio sessions at Muscle Shoals, Layla and Clapton, Duane and Barry's deaths. Road manager Willie Perkins gives a lot of funny insights about life on the road with the band, etc. I'm a die hard Allman Brothers fan and I really enjoyed it.

    Awesome Documentary!!

Great look at the Allman Brothers Band, from the members' earliest involvement in music, to Duane's master plan to devise a band with all the elements that would become The Allman Brothers. See the early rising of the band, with Duane & Berry's untimely deaths at the most pinnacle point of the band's careers. Plus many more extras. A must have for any true ABB fan!!
