Panasonic TV Connected To Internet But Apps Not Working!

More than just watching your favourite TV movies and episodes is possible with a smart TV. On different streaming sites such as Netflix, Disney Plus, or Youtube, you may download apps that allow you to play games, watch music videos, or stream online shows. On your smart TV, all you have to do is download and install the apps you require.

However, there are times when the apps do not operate. Some Panasonic smart TV users have reported that their apps have stopped working or will not load at all. If this issue occurs, it could be due to outdated programmes or apps that aren't compatible with your Panasonic TV.

Why does my smart TV continuously tell me that my WiFi isn't working?

The signal is caught up by your device's position, which is why it is constantly losing its WiFi connection. There is far too much stuttering or tinkering with the connection before it reaches each device that requires it.

Usually app related problems are due to the network the TV is being used with rather than a fault with the TV. Most TV’s models have a network connection test. Please check in your TV instruction manual for details of how to complete the test. If the TV internet connection test is OK, please try the following networking troubleshooting steps :-

  • Check that your router is turned on and operational.

  • Check if any other Wi-Fi devices can connect to the internet.

  • Check that your TV has the latest firmware installed. This can be done via the TV menus and for most models on the Panasonic Global support website.

  • Please allow a couple of minutes from turning on the TV before trying to access any of the apps. This is so the connection between the TV and the router can be established.

  • Reboot (not reset) the router. Turn it off for 20-30 seconds and then switch back on. Wait for the router to reconnect to the internet before testing.

  • Install any applicable firmware updates to the router.

  • If the router has any 'smart setup' options for when devices are first connected to it then log into the router and turn 'smart setup' off.

  • Check if there are any parental control settings turned on in the router.

  • Set up a smartphone as a wireless hotspot and connect the TV to the phone. Please ensure that the smartphone is using its own internet connection and is not Wi-Fi connected to the router. This would test the TV on a different network. Please only check if connection can be made to the apps and do not try to stream a film if you have a limited or paid data tariff.

  • If you are using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) try to access the apps without using it.

We’ve all experienced a loss of Wi-Fi at some point. It’s frustrating when your internet stops working, and you can’t work on that assignment or stream your favorite show. Smart TVs can have the same issue from time to time. Because smart TVs need the internet to connect to apps, it’s essential to have a good and stable Wi-Fi connection. Why your TV can’t connect to Wi-Fi is probably one of a few things. It could be because your TV isn’t compatible with the network, something is blocking the connection, or the network itself is down. Here’s what you need to do to minimize connection issues;

  • Limit the number of devices connected to your Wi-Fi
  • Make sure your router is within 30 feet of your smart TV
  • Use an ethernet cable for a direct connection to your router

You also need to ensure that your Wi-Fi is set up correctly on your TV and that you have entered the correct password.

Check Wi-Fi connection on other devices.

Is your TV the only device that won’t connect to Wi-Fi, or are other devices having the same problem?

If it’s just your TV, there could be a few different reasons it’s not connecting. Let’s troubleshoot and see if we can get it connected.

The method of resolving your specific internet connection issues will depend on the smart TV model you own. With that in mind, let’s look at what you’ll need to do for each of the major smart TV manufacturers.

Samsung

If your Samsung smart TV has lost connection to the internet, first try unplugging all of its components and leaving it to sit for five minutes. Once you have rebooted it, go to Settings and set it to factory default settings. This should hopefully fix the issue. If not, try the following steps;

  • Unplug the modem for 5 minutes and plug it back in.
  • Remove power to your router for 5 minutes and plug it back in.
  • Unplug the smart TV for 5 minutes and plug it back into power.
  • Go to the smart TV menu, select Settings > General > Network > Network Status, and select Network Reset.
  • Change IP SETTINGS in the smart TV menu: DNS SERVER to 8.8.8.8
  • Update the firmware on your smart TV to the newest version.
  • Turn off all firewalls as a test to be sure this is not causing issues.
  • Go back to the smart TV and try to connect to Wi-Fi. (If the connection is successful, stop here, you are done; if not, continue below.) Be sure you are typing in the correct password; it will be noted on the back of your router if you have not yet personalized it.
  • Try connecting to a different network—either 2.4, 5, guest SSID, or Wi-Fi direct—if your chosen network does not connect.

LG

If your LG smart TV doesn’t connect to the internet, first make sure your router is set up correctly, and your network settings on your TV are also set up correctly. If everything looks fine, but your LG tv still won’t connect to the internet, try the following.

Turn off the quick start feature

  • Press “Settings” on your LG remote.
  • Go to “All Settings.”
  • Go to “General.”
  • Go to “QuickStart.”
  • Toggle to “Off” position.

Power cycle your TV

  • Power off the TV and unplug it.
  • Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds.

Plug the TV back in, hit the power button, and try to connect to your Wi-Fi again

Sony

If your Sony smart TV won’t connect to the internet, it’s likely down to network issues. You can try the following to resolve the issue;

  • Try to access internet content.
  • Note if an error code appears. Find it in the TV manual and skip the rest of this section if it does. If it doesn’t, continue troubleshooting.
  • If your TV isn’t an Android TV, refresh the content. On the remote control, press HOME > Settings > Network or Network Setup > Refresh Internet Content.
  • Update the software.
  • Do a power reset.
  • Reset your modem or router by unplugging it for at least half a minute.
  • Reset the TV to the original factory settings (HOME > Settings > Device Preferences > Reset > Factory Data Reset > Erase Everything).
  • Check if there’s an issue with your service provider.

Sometimes your software needs to be updated to connect to Wi-Fi properly. You can do this by following these steps;

  • On the remote control, press Home > Apps > Help.
  • Under System software update, click: Checking if updates are available for your TV.
  • Turn the automatic updates on.
  • Download and install any available updates.

Roku

If your Roku TV doesn’t connect to the internet, you must first ensure the network settings are set up correctly. Here’s how;

  • Press Left on the remote from the home screen to enter the side menu. Then, scroll down to Settings.
  • Press Right on the remote to enter Settings, and press Right again to go to network. Press Right one more time to focus on the Network page.
  • Scroll down to Set Up Connection > Wireless and press OK.
  • The system will perform a wireless scan for nearby networks. You will see a list of available networks nearby when it’s done. Look for your network in the list and press OK.
  • Enter the password for your wireless network, then scroll down to Connect and press OK on the remote. If your password is correct, the system will begin connecting.

If you still cannot connect your Roku TV to the internet, then you’ll need to reset your TV. You can do this by using the below steps on your remote;

Why won't my Apps work on my smart TV?

Perform a soft reset without a TV remote Unplug your TV from the power socket and wait for 30 seconds before plugging it back in. Once your TV has restarted, try using the app again. Software updates are released to provide bug and security fixes for your device.
