I have sought to discourage worshipers from leaving before the benediction during service. We never know what awaits us as we leave the house of God. We need God to keep us from falling so that when temptations come, and they will, we will be able to stand and not succumb to the forces of evil. It is important that we have the Lord’s covering so that we do not fall apart when troubles come our way. God will keep us in perfect peace because our minds are stayed on Him. We need that covering when we leave the sanctuary and when we leave our homes every day. All of us have an Achilles heel: some weakness. Nevertheless, God will give us the strength to overcome our weaknesses. In today’s devotion, I would ask you to turn your attention to a prayer of praise found in Jude 1:24-25: Show “Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault. All glory to Him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are His before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen.” In this prayer, Jude expresses gratitude toward God. He knows that God keeps him from falling and will present him without blemish for the presence of his glory to rejoice. In other words, God safeguards him and keeps his footing. Jude speaks with confidence, reverence, and says to the only wise God, knowing that majesty and dominion belongs to Him. Jude ends with Amen. Amen, means let it be so, it is done, it is finished, and nothing is lacking. We too can say Amen, knowing that our God will keep us from falling. He never slumbers nor sleeps and is always there to pick us up before we go down. Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling and to present [you] faultless before the presence of his glory with Who keeps us from falling?God is strong and can help you not to fall. He can bring you before his glory without any wrong in you and can give you great joy. He is the only God, the One who saves us. To him be glory, greatness, power, and authority through Jesus Christ our Lord for all time past, now, and forever.
What does God say about falling down?Psalm 37:24, “Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the LORD upholds him with His hand.” There are highs and lows on the Christian journey.
What does the Bible say about God keeping us?The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life.
What does Matthew 12 34 say?In the King James Version of the Bible the text reads: O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. The New International Version translates the passage as: You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good?
