This book is full of pride. It also has a lot of prejudice.

This is a good book, and I enjoyed reading it. I watched the 1995 tv mini-series before I read the book so I mostly knew what was going to happen, but still enjoyed the book a lot. The mini-series was quite good and I would recommend it. The characters are well written and likeable, and you can really see them as people, and see the reasons for most of their actions. Except for Lydia's. No one saw them coming. There is humor which is actually funny, and the romance is not gushy or inappropriate. It's hilarious how Mr. Darcy assumed that the best way to win the heart of his beloved would be to tell her how beneath him she was, how poor her situation is, and how annoying he finds her family, all while he proposed to her. There's positive role models in Elizabeth and Jane, and many people own up to their mistakes. There are positive messages, including giving people second chances. There is educational value with how people thought of you depending on your money. I don't think there is much objectional materiel in here. There's no violence or swearing and the romance is nothing to be worried about. Lydia does run off with a dastardly soldier who at first doesn't plan to marry her, but that's fixed. Lydia doesn't get any more mature though. "Who would like that nasty, freckled thing anyway?"-Lydia Bennet, married at age sixteen. One thing that may discourage younger kids from reading this is that the language is high flown, and the story could be confusing and boring if you don't like that type of story. All in all I greatly enjoyed this book and would recommend it. I think this is one classic that ACTUALLY deserves to be a classic.

Ahh Darcy and Elizabeth

It’s a really good book and represents the time period very well. The book is over 200 years old and still has humor. Honestly there is not anything too bad. Lidia dose run away with an officer when the officer has no intention of marrying her and just plans to use her. It is overall a good book but requires a greater reading comprehension because it was written in the 1800 and uses old English.

You won't regret reading this!!

This book was incredible. I think it's amazing that a book written in the early 1800's could be so good that I couldn't put it down. Aside from being just a great read, the characters were so well developed, they had such unique personalities and I love how all of them changed. One thing I've learned from this is to never name my future daughter Lydia because it would drive me insane! I read this at age 13, but that's the bare minimum I'd say, if you really want to get the most out of this amazing novel. I watched the movie first which I think was a good call because though most of the book was easy to follow, the parts that were kind of confusing I was able to understand because I knew what happened. Things that parents would like to know is that there is a man who tries at least has affairs with girls without marrying them and he almost does so with 2 girls- for the second girl, he was bribed to marry her. That might be a little heavy for people under 12 or 13. It might be tough to understand the cultural differences of that time period for younger kids. Anyways thanks for reading this review if you made it this far, I 100% recommend it, I couldn't put it down. Enjoy!!

Amazing! Though may be boring for children who don't like classics.

I absolutely love this book. It is one of my favorite books of all time, and not just for classic books. If you haven't read many classic books, the old english may be hard to understand. There is nothing slightly innapropriate about this book at all. I said ages 12+ because it would probably be boring for children younger than that. The book is amazing and Lizzy is a good role model. Darcy's character ark from a jerk to a respectful gentleman is AMAZING. I also love that Jane Austen's humor from 200 years ago still carrys over to today and is still funny. Read the book then watch the 6 hour BBC adaption with Colin Firth, because it is amazing and definetly worth your time. Then, watch the 2005 Kiera Knightly version, it dosen't go into nearly as much detail, but the soundtrack is amazing and its beautiful cinnematically. It is also a very good adaption being as short as it is. Anyway, read this book and watch the movies, its definetly worth your time.

Soo Good

"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife" Pride and Prejudice is a book about romance, family, and not judging others. Elizabeth judges Mr. Darcy, but realizes she is wrong. Mr. Darcy is rude to Elizabeth, but learns from his mistake. The language is a bit old-fashioned, but anyone over 11-12 will be able to understand. Go read Pride and Prejudice!!

Awsome book

It’s a truly fantastic book , and suitable for everyone. The only reason I gave it an 11+ is because the language could be too difficult for younger kids

Classic Novel

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen is a classic novel you must read at least once in your life. Despite being 200 years old, the language isn't too dated or hard to read. Austen is very funny with her characters and always gives them satisfying endings.

Super good!

This book was really good, and I absolutely loved it. It was bit of a challenging read, an took me a bit longer to read than other books, but overall absolutely enjoyed it. My teacher recommended it to me as a challenge book, and I am very glad she did.
