On a scale of 1 to 10 how scary is a Quiet Place

I don’t really like horror movies (esp with lots of jump scares), but I really enjoy thrillers and suspenseful films. Can someone who’s seen the film (maybe even someone else who’s typically scared of these kinds of films) help me figure out if I could handle it?

Like how many jump scares/are they particularly bad/unforeseen?

Here’s a list of other horror/thrillers I’ve seen and enjoyed, so feel free to make a comparison (e.g. scarier than x, about as scary as y, etc)

Get Out Annihilation Blue Ruin Green Room The Gift 10 Cloverfield Lane World War Z The Village Split

Edit: Thank you to everyone who responded! I’ve decided to check it out, and will be seeing it tomorrow night!

A Quiet Place

A Quiet Place was the first horror movie I've ever seen, and I saw it recently and LOVED it. I was expecting it to be absolutely terrifying- -and it was. But it's one of the greatest, if not THE greatest movie of all time. PREMISE: One of the last families on Earth are trying to survive in a world where aliens that attack anything that makes noise have taken over. VIOLENCE: 4/5 There are some quick bloody attacks from the aliens, but most of the violence happens off screen. There is one part where the mother steps on a nail, which is not as bad as you may think. There is also a part where a raccoon gets smashed by a monster, but it is very quick at is only see for 2 seconds. The rest happens off screen or are fast and not very bloody. LANGUAGE: 0/5 Because they can't make any noise, there is no swearing whatsoever and they don't swear in sign language. INAPPROPRIATE STUFF: 1/5 A pregnant woman gives birth off screen, and the bloody after math is shown for a minute. SCARINESS: 5/5 Okay, so this is where you should watch out. This is one of the scariest movies of the year, chock-full of suspense and a few incredible jump scares. If you don't handle those well, then skip the part where the daugfhter and the son are looking at each other in the grain silo. POSITIVE MESSAGES: 3/5 The family is caring for each other and do whatever they can to protect each other. The main protagonist is a deaf girl, and the family communicate in ASL (American Sign Language). OVERALL: 100/5 This is one of the best movies of all time. Suspense, Horror, and Action mixed together with a story of family bonding. One of, if not THE, best.

Not scary.

The movie was underwhelming. I hate gore, but sometimes it’s necessary in scary movies, the whole point of this film was just people not making sound and occasionally someone gets flown away by a pterodactyl on steroids.

Not scary whatsoever, not much of a plot and I didn’t enjoy watching it!

One of the best suspenseful horror movies I’ve ever seen. Most of the movie isn’t done by talking but with actions that build up the suspense. There is barely any super bloody scenes, and I would recommend it to anyone ages 9+. The director did a great job with the action and he viewed the characters problems as they are trying to go through a world where if you make a loud noise, you die. The aliens very scary and show incredible detail of cgi and other parts. Great movie, I really recommend to people that love suspenseful horrors, has to be one of my favorite movies ever

Great Horror Movie For Kids

This, in my opinion, is a fantastic horror film for kids who are ready to begin their endeavour into the horror genre. This film is very distinctive and has a compelling plot that draws you into the action. I've seen a lot of horror films, and while this one may not be as bloody or paranormal as some others, it's still one of the best out there.

How scary is A Quiet Place?

The film has some instances of blood and injury with one brief image being quite gory. Mainly the film can be VERY intense as the characters are constantly under threat from the monsters and the film gets very scary at times and the tone is quite downbeat and dark and can be emotional at times.

Is A Quiet Place 1 or 2 scarier?

Which Film Is Scarier? While both movies are successful, the first A Quiet Place film is the clear winner in the battle for title of the scariest for two reasons. First, it goes without saying, but since it's the first movie, fans don't know what's happening.

Is A Quiet Place 1 horror?

A Quiet Place is a 2018 American post-apocalyptic horror film directed by John Krasinski and written by Bryan Woods, Scott Beck and Krasinski, from a story conceived by Woods and Beck.

Is A Quiet Place okay for a 9 year old?

Age Appropriate For: 13+. This horror film about an alien race that tracks humans using sound is masterful in building suspense, and it may be quite scary for younger tweens.
