Late last year, Nike introduced the Air Force 1 High Sculpt, a new iteration of the classic AF1 constructed in womens’ sizes. The new style celebrated the original release of the silhouette, recalling the OG high-top cut, and removing the ankle strap for a clean new look. The first few releases of the AF1 Sculpt were well-received, dressed in simple and timeless color schemes. This week, we got our first look at the next Sculpt release, which casts the silhouette in a new premium construction as a part of a “We’ll Take it From Here” special-edition. While the story behind the shoes is currently unknown, the name comes from the same quote scrawled on the outer heels and insoles of this special pair. Otherwise, this AF1 features a white leather base layer, sand or tan mudguards, grey Swooshes, and a pre-aged yellow midsole to complete the look.

Nike’s upcoming release of their premium Air Force 1 High Sculpt has not yet been announced for release, though they are expected to land on shelves sometime in the coming weeks. Though the story behind the pair remains a mystery, they will likely release from both Nike and select retailers in the coming months. We’ve seen the Swoosh dress its famous Air Force 1 variants in every color and material under the sun, yet consumers can’t get enough. The Bruce Kilgore design continually gets updated looks while maintaining the OGs style, as seen in this upcoming Nike Air Force 1 Sculpt “We’ll Take It From Here” (W).
Using a standard Nike Air Force 1 High as its canvas, the Sculpt model makes some changes to the 40-year-old design, most notably sculpting the collar area and removing the lock down strap which gives the silhouette a less bulky look. A combo of suede and leather make up the front half with standard perforated leather dressing the toebox and a tan suede donning the mudguard and eyelets. Contrasting colored overstitching on the suede overlays provides a DIY aesthetic as well as a pop of color, coming in green, salmon, gold, and orange.
Along the midfoot and heel is a tumbled leather underlay which features a cut out Nike Swoosh that sits above the embroidered phrase “We’ll Take It From Here,” also seen on the insole of both pairs. For the last pop of color on the upper, a green leather heel tab comes cross-stitched in white. Rounding out the entire look is the sail-colored midsole and grey rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Force 1 High Sculpt We’ll Take It From Here W is scheduled to release sometime in 2022 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $145. Editor's Notes: When you create a timeless classic like Nike did with the Air Force 1, it often morphs into countless iterations over the years, in a way, becoming less of a sneaker and more of a canvas.
Think of the traditional all-white leather Air Force 1 Low (or Mid, or High, depending on your preference) as a blank sheet of paper. As it is, it serves a purpose and serves it well. Shared amongst various creators and minds, it had the potential to spawn a plethora of unique takes.
Collaborations have offered some of the greatest Air Force 1s we've ever seen – my personal favorites being the black ACRONYM Lows and green camo Supreme Lows – but its more simplistic, in-house updates shouldn't go overlooked.
Case in point, the High Sculpt. Making its return for 2022, the silhouette takes everything great about the AF1 High and makes it cleaner; more minimalistic. Its iconic basketball silhouette remains, now featuring a sculpted collar free of the traditional ankle strap – removing a majority of the sneaker's bulk.
This iteration, dubbed "We'll Take It From Here," comes with additional details that make it a shoe worthy of attention. Exposed stitching and embroidery appear across the midfoot and heel, with a particularly nice touch being the sneaker's namesake phrase towards the rear.
Cut-out Swooshes on the lateral and medial sides allow a touch of grey to creep through onto the white leather upper, both of which are beautifully contrasted by pale pink, deep green, and vintage-washed midsoles.
The Air Force 1 may be perfect as is, but this execution is deserving of respect.
