Next League of Legends World Championship

Location: North America (Mexico City, New York City, Atlanta, San Francisco)

Over the weekend, Riot announced that the League of Legends World Championship will unfold across the entire North American continent with four cities playing host to the event.

The four stages of LoL Worlds will be at the following locations:

  • Play-Ins in Mexico City, Mexico at the Arena Esports Stadium at Artz Pedregal on September 29-October 4
  • Groups in New York City at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden on October 7-10 and October 13-16
  • Quarterfinals in New York City at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden on October 20-23
  • Semifinals in Atlanta, Georgia at the State Farm Arena on October 29-30
  • Finals in San Francisco, California at the Chase Center on November 5

Previous League of Legends Esports World Events in North America:

In 2013 in the US, events were held at the Galen Center and Staples Center in Los Angeles. Worlds has been in Los Angeles at the Staples Center in 2013. In 2016, all group stage play was in San Francisco. The Quarterfinals were played at the Chicago Theatre in Chicago, the semifinals were at Madison Square Garden in New York City, and the finals were back at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. T1 (known as SKT1 then) have won both NA hosted Worlds in 2013 and 2016.

The Finals tickets will go on sale at 9:00 AM PT September 29th.

How Many Teams go to Worlds: 24

The LCL will not be able to attend Worlds 2022 and their slot will be given to LEC in Europe as they have had the best performance on the global stage over the past two years and don't have already have four slots.
