Our bulldog has a serious chicken allergy and we're really limited in what we can buy for her. Almost every major brand's kibble contains chicken in some form, including the ones that don't have chicken as the main ingredient. I don't care about all this raw natural organic grain-free gluten-free what-are-the-first-five-ingredients sensationalism; all I want is food that won't make my dog sick. We don't have a car, so the fact that this is available on Amazon is amazing.

We switched to this after learning that the (vet-recommended!) dental food our dogs had been on for a year was primarily cellulose (as in sawdust!). This Merrick dogfood has great ingredients, and our dogs love it, however the odoriferous flatulence was certainly not an advertised feature! We hoped their gas odor was the result of switching foods, but after several weeks it seems that our Amazon orders for this better dogfood will need to include the purchase of some better air fresheners as well!

So sometimes I add apple cider vinegar to the dry food or juice from a tuna can when I am opening one. If you are looking for a grain free healthy brand I would say this is one of the best. This dog food checks all the boxes when it comes to ingredients and nutrition. The kibble is small and my mini poodle loves it. But I do noticed he has tear stains on this brand. He was on merrick whole earth farms and had no tear stain issues.
