And for the record, psychopaths are born, sociopaths are created. I read the last couple of disc threads and a lot of people called Hotaru a psychopath. The evidence would suggest she is more likely a sociopath.

I think I'm with you here. Of course I like many people am glad that he got what he deserved, but also wonder if things had to go that far to reach the conclusion. Like, I just can't say if this is really what mentally weak people would do irl. She got abused since 7 year old, she knew it's wrong and still decided to hide it from her mother. Then when that terrible mom found out and left for her own good, she had the courage to finally tell the police just to see it failed, and then she just gave up. Yeah the dad is a president, so what? Why this series made it like he was so powerful and influential that he could mess with anyone dared to meddle with his business? She failed to come to the police once, how about another station? What about her friends, her teachers, or her relatives? She just assumed no one would ever help her, and decided to shut it. It's really so frustrating. People could say she chose to keep it all to herself just so she could protect Hotaru, but believe me, with how this series painted her, I wouldn't be surprised if Hotaru killed this being called dad right off the spot when something bad happened to her.

Well wondering why nobody said anything or called the police before when she was standing there on the bridge with a knife pointed at her own throat. I am preeetty sure someone would have seen that it was a suicide attempt and the father trying to prevent that and as an accident then he got stabbed. As for why? They were standing quite far and probably had to "shout" a bit to talk.

People don't may that much attention to others. Nor do they look up often. No one is going to notice something like this until there's a lot of movement or noise (the dad crying out in pain and falling down the stairs.
