Kindred the Family Soul (also known as Kindred) is a husband and wife duo made up of former solo artists Aja Graydon and Fatin Dantzler.

How did Kindred the Family Soul meet?

The couple met in 1997 thanks to hip-hop band The Roots. By the fall of 1998 they were married. Kindred recorded their first album, “Surrender to Love,” in 2003. Since then they've added four more albums, produced a short film, and were nominated for a Soul Train Music Award and a BET Award.

“We got married one year after we met and became husband and wife. Our family now includes six children so we've become mom and pop. But we're also auntie and unc to a lot of folks in the community because we've been around for a long time.
