The Isle of Man is easily accessible by ferry and plane from key regional ports across the UK and Ireland. The ferry company which operates between the North West of England and the East Coast of Ireland is the Steam Packet Company with regular services between Liverpool, Heysham, Dublin and Belfast during the summer months. There are a vast amount of accommodation options to choose from when visiting the Island. During TT there are a number of temporary camping and glamping sites to choose from along with the ever popular IOMTT Village situated at the TT Grandstand. The IOMTT Village is the ideal location for those fans who want to be as close to the action as you can get, made up of 160 twin bedded individual cabins the village is just a short walk away from the grandstand and local amenities including a supermarket, petrol station and Douglas promenade.

In addition to the temporary accommodation which is available the Island has a large number of self catering properties, hotels, bed and breakfasts and guest accommodation. If you are looking for a home away from home then the IOMTT homestay scheme might be an option, operated by Miquando it offers exactly what it says on the tin either staying with local families or as a self catering option.

Where To Watch

Best places to watch the Isle of Man TT Races

Most parts of the TT circuit allows spectators to watch the racing free of charge. You have the freedom to sit or stand (within the non-restricted zones) and watch as the bikes zoom past at over 180mph! You will have to get to your favourite spot early as the hedges quickly become full.

There are a number of grandstands situated around the course including at the start/finish line at the TT Grandstand and Hillberry which are both popular vantage points. Many visitors choose to spectate from a grandstand at least once during their visit allowing them to soak up the atmosphere with like minded people and with a different view. If you are celebrating a special occasion or just want to enhance your Isle of Man TT experience why don’t you treat you or a loved one to one to a hospitality package at the TT Grandstand. You will have the chance to rub shoulders with the riders before watching the action from your very own private grandstand whilst enjoying sumptuous local food and drink.

The Isle of Man has an extensive public transport network with Railways, Trams and Buses all providing services that can be used by TT visitors to get round.

As its name suggests the Mountain Railway is a great way of reaching one of the highest points on the Isle of Man TT Course. Catch the trams from its terminus in Laxey, or travel via the sister service - the Manx Electric Railway - from either Douglas or Ramsey and arrive at the Bungalow in style. Access to either side of the Course is possible via the footbridge.

The Steam Railway runs between Port Erin in the South of the island and Douglas. Useful especially for visitors staying at the Colby Glamping site.

The Isle of Man has an extensive network of Greenlanes (bridleways) open to mountain bikes, horses and off-road bikes. Many of the Greenlanes run through the hills and valleys in the centre of the Course making for a great way to watch from more than one vantage point during the race.
