Trash is normally collected weekly, Monday-Friday, 6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Your collection day depends on where you live in the City. Trash must be set out at the curb or alleyway by 6 a.m. for pickup. Read more about Collection Services There are no garbage, yard waste and recycling collections or special pick-ups of electronics and bulky items on the holidays listed below.
Holiday Week Collection DelaysIf the holiday happens to fall on Saturday or Sunday, your collection schedule will not be affected. If the holiday falls on a weekday, the collection schedule will be delayed one day from the day of the holiday for the remainder of the week. For instance, if the holiday falls on a Wednesday, then Monday and Tuesday collections would be performed as regularly scheduled, Wednesday's collection would occur on Thursday, Thursday's collection would occur on Friday and Friday's collection would occur on Saturday. Our schedules apply to recycling and trash collection service provided by Montgomery County, Maryland, to single-family homes and townhomes. Check whether your address receives County-provided service. If you live in a municipality, your holiday schedule for recycling or trash collection may be different from the County schedule. See recycling/trash contact information for municipalities. All items to be collected must be out at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on your collection day. Which holidays are affected? We do not make County-provided recycling or trash collection on these County holidays with the following exception: If the actual holiday falls on the weekend , but the County observes the holiday on the Friday before or the Monday after the actual holiday, there is no change in the collection schedule.*
If a County holiday falls during the week (Monday – Friday), all collections scheduled on or after the holiday will be made one day later that week. Sign up for text and email alerts! * Indigenous Peoples' Day, Monday, October 10, 2022 (NORMAL SCHEDULE)
