Just ask the slew of celebrities like Gigi Hadid, Demi Lovato, Kaia Gerber, and more who have tried the color on for size. Pink hair can be as bold and subversive or demure and delicate as you want it to be, depending on which shade you choose — and like we said, there's a lot.

Before booking an appointment with your hairstylist to take on a rosier outlook (or before making a quick trip to the store to pick up a box of dye), peek at these styles for the ultimate pink hair inspiration.   Demi Lovato kicked off 2021 with a brand-new rosy pink hair color done by the ultra-talented Amber Maynard Bolt. The striking bubblegum hue looks stunning on the singer, who had previously been sporting platinum blonde hair with her pixie cut. It's worth pointing out that Lovato has repped pink hair several times in the past, though she's never tried a pastel shade like this. Here's hoping she keeps the rainbow color around.

  Legendary hair artist Guido Palau was behind Kaia Gerber's pink hair transformation, which she debuted last summer during quarantine. Instead of giving the supermodel fully pink hair, Palau opted for a chic ombré look so it would fade nicely. This is a great look for beginners who may be hesitant to take the train to Pink Town.

  My Little Pony Pink

  Georgia May Jagger took the red carpet at the 2018 Fashion Awards in London rocking this super-bright magenta hue that reminds us of the classic My Little Pony toy — in the best of ways. The rich color skews a little purple, but still very much reads bold, bright pink. It's a welcome punch of color for the typically dreary winter season.

  Rose Quartz

  Ashley Tisdale recently hit Instagram to show off her latest hair color, a rose-quartz hue done by Dom Forletta. The actress got the new dye job just in time to shoot a campaign for her Illuminate Cosmetics brand. Hairstylist Justine Marjan finessed Tisdale's coif for the occasion. "The color played well off her makeup palettes so we wanted the hair to feel young and fresh," she tells Allure. "We gave her a deep side part and used the GHD Platinum+ Styler to add a wave to the hair." For heat styling a color like this, the kind of tools you use are key. "When doing a fantasy color, it’s really important to take care of the health of your hair and only use non-damaging hot tools so that the color isn’t affected when styling."   Blac Chyna is a big fan of pink hair — keep scrolling for another one of her hues — and her latest interpretation is a wet-look style in a pretty pastel. But if you've been thinking that pastel pink means muted, think again. Even though this shade is light, it's anything but faded; the color is intense and bright while still being soft.

  Hair-color chameleon Halsey debuted rose-gold strands at the 2018 American Music Awards, making a decidedly different (and refreshing) change from the jet-black hair she was sporting before. This look couldn't be cooler on the singer-songwriter, and is a super fun option for fall.

  Allow Dej Loaf to show you how to rock a bowl cut — and actually make it look cool. The rapstress hit the 2018 BET Awards red carpet with a version of the cropped style in what hairstylist Kellon Deryck calls an "icy white" hue, punctuated by pink tips.

  Rita Ora only just debuted her new orange hair before deciding to play with even more color for the Fragrance Foundation Awards.   If you want to try just a touch of pink, let this dye job done by Winnipeg hairstylist Josie Vilayvanh serve as some inspo. The hair is mostly kept a white-blonde hue, while the roots are colored a dusty pink that seamlessly blends out into the rest of the hair.

• Copper Rose

  Move over, rose gold, this coppery goodness, done on hairstylist Mackenzie Myers by Charley Teague, is making the case for mixing pink with another metallic-inspired shade. Think of it as the perfect pink hue for the fall season with its cozy, spicy hues.

• Neapolitan

  Like the classic tri-colored ice cream flavor, Fresh Off the Boat star Constance Wu debuted a new pink-haired look complete with dark roots and blonde tips. First, she had to lighten her naturally dark strands before adding a rosy dye to only the mid-section of her hair.

• Pink Streaks

  Hailey Baldwin tinted her blonde hair with pink, adding brighter as well as pastel streaks throughout. If your hair is already lightened like Baldwin's, you can easily replicate her look at home with Overtone's Extreme Pink Deep Treatment, which gently deposits color onto hair in minutes.

  Cyndi Lauper told Allure in a recent interview that she was planning to dye her hair blue before realizing that her current hair color was the same as the marketing for the Women's March. "I should never change the color of my hair — [at least] not now, just to keep solidarity," the singer said. "Part of what I saw was women marching with signs that said: 'Girls Just Want to Have Fun-Damental Rights.' I was so moved by it, I thought, no, my hair is going to pink — so now it’s pink."

• Leader of K-pop group NCT 127, Taeyong, showed us all how to master the rose-gold hair trend when the "Cherry Bomb" music video dropped. (We dare you to watch the whole thing and not want to dye your hair a matching shade immediately after.) The rapper even colored his brows in the trendy hue.

  Iggy Azalea decided to try something new, straying from her signature blonde for a shocking shade of pink. Take a look and you'll see that it's brightest towards her roots and fades into a white-blonde at the tips for a bright and bold ombré.
