We’ve got a breakdown of what’s being offered on the service, what it costs, and more details.

What is Paramount+?

Paramount Plus isn’t a TV channel. It’s a direct-to-customer streaming service from ViacomCBS, a media company whose brands include CBS, CBS News, CBS Sports, BET, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures, Showtime and the Smithsonian Channel. The service draws from that extensive library, and lets subscribers stream more than 30,000 episodes and movies.

What does Paramount+ include?

The service will feature a content catalog of, as Viacom CBS says, “more than 30,000 episodes, 2,500 movie titles and over 1,000 live sporting events, plus around-the-clock news coverage.” Some new Paramount Pictures movies will stream on Paramount Plus from 35 to 45 days after their theatrical run, including “A Quiet Place Part II,” “Paw Patrol: The Movie” and “Mission: Impossible 7.”

In addition to episodes of such TV series as “Young Sheldon,” “The Daily Show With Trevor Noah,” and “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” Paramount Plus will also feature the premieres of some exciting original series.

The slate that’s been announced so far includes “Halo,” based on the video game; a revival of “Frasier,” starring Kelsey Grammer; a revival of “Criminal Minds,” and a companion true-crime show; “The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run,” and a “SpongeBob” spinoff series, “Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years”; “The Real World Homecoming: New York,” which reunites the original cast of the trailblazing reality series; “The Offer,” a limited series inspired by the story of how “The Godfather” movie came to be made; “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,” another entry in the “Trek” universe, focusing on Captain Christopher Pike, Science Officer Spock and Number One in the decade before Captain Kirk took command of the U.S.S. Enterprise; and a “Yellowstone” spinoff (note: the very popular “Yellowstone” -- which airs on the Paramount Network -- is not available on Paramount Plus, as its first three seasons are currently under contract on another streaming service, Peacock).

Paramount Plus will also feature live sporting events, including football, golf, basketball as well as exclusive streaming rights to games played by some of the most popular soccer leagues in the world like Champions League, Europa League, the NWSL and more.

How much does Paramount+ cost?

At launch, the Paramount Plus premium plan, with no ads, costs $9.99 per month. In June, that will expand to a limited plan that includes intermittent ads, and will cost $4.99 per month. If you’re already subscribing to CBS All Access (plans there have been priced at $5.99 with ads, and $9.99 for the commercial-free option), you’ll be automatically transferred to Paramount Plus on Thursday, March 4.

How do I watch Paramount+?

The service will be available on a variety of devices and platforms. If you’re watching on a computer or laptop, you find Paramount Plus at https://www.paramountplus.com/ to watch through an internet browser. According to ViacomCBS, Paramount Plus will be supported “across a wide number of platforms, including apps on smart TVs and connected-TV devices, online, mobile, gaming consoles, and leading OTT providers.” While the company doesn’t go into detail, for reference purposes, CBS All Access is supported on the following popular devices as well as several others:
